“A Restaurant Where Latin-Inspired Cuisine Meets NYC Sophistication Helmed by acclaimed French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, abc cocina is the second concept in the renowned “abc restaurant trio.” The menu features refined, Latin-inspired small plates crafted with locally sourced ingredients and layered with global influences. The space is stylish yet relaxed, with warm, moody lighting and thoughtful design. Attentive service and an easy, unhurried pace make it a great choice for date night, a family dinner, or even group gatherings. During Restaurant Week, it’s a great chance to enjoy some of the restaurant’s signature dishes and soak in the atmosphere without the usual splurge!”
“How can you make South American food more interesting beyond just the spice and salsa Chef Jean-George’s delivers and then the Patissiere does more thank put the cherry on the cake, he dazzles with flavor contrasts to make a memorable meal extraordinary. For vegan and vegetarian options Cocona offers a wide and varied menu, allowing you to explore and be entertained. Highlights were the maikati mushrooms and goat cheese, cauliflower (marinated in spice) tacos and the variety of salsas with the guacamole. For dessert- incredible popcorn ice cream and churros, with the sticky date pudding along with tamarind sorbet causing a tasteful stir. Sensational evening and the service was superb from the many servers and our staff”
“Big fan of Chef Jean-Georges and ABC kitchen is one of my fav in the city. So glad that I finally got the chance to get dinner and it didn’t disappoint! The dishes are a bit bigger proportion that I’d expect though. :) lovely place for group dinner.”
“This has been on my list forever as a Jean Georges restaurant, so I finally made it in for dinner this past Tuesday. Hosts were super nice and welcoming right off the bat. I’m a Resy Global Dining Access member and they actually noted it to make sure we got a great table, which I appreciated. Also, it was so nice and cold inside given the insane heat we’ve had this week, small thing but it mattered. Vibe was really nice too. We started with the Tropicale margarita, which was delicious, the mango, lime, habanero combo just works. Ordered the garlic shrimp and the pea guacamole to start, both really good and paired perfectly with the margaritas. Then we got the fish tacos and pork tacos. Honestly both were great, and I’m normally a pork person, it was tender and flavorful, but the fish taco kind of stole the show here. Grilled fish, seasoned just right, not overdone, and that citrus plus their homemade habanero sauce was chef’s kiss. Portions are on the smaller side, but the quality’s there, so we still had room for dessert. Got the churros and the caramel popcorn ice cream. Went for the churros first and… they just weren’t it. Texture was off, kind of crumbly in a way that didn’t feel like a properly done churro. The ice cream though, worth every penny. If you’re choosing between the two, get the ice cream. Kind of surprised our server never asked why the churros were basically untouched, feels like something worth mentioning back to the kitchen. Service was sweet overall, but they did bring us chicken tacos instead of fish at one point, which took like 20-25 min to sort out. Paid $230 with tip for 2 people, overall a good meal and I’d go back again for those fish tacos.”
“Went for Christmas dinner , we were a party of 5. Ordered a variety of dishes to share. Spent over 600. I would say most of the food was good but not exceptional. Later found out that their was a Christmas menu and we were never informed by our waitress and missed out on ordering potentially interesting combination. Food portions are small . Food is very over priced. Drinks are ridiculously over priced. My mock tail was one of the worst I've ever tried had to ask for more simple syrup and put more water in it myself to even out the extreme sour flavor it had. Service was friendly I feel they missed a few things but good still . Dessert Pastries we're mediocre at best , fluke was bad no one likes it . The horchata ice was super delicious definitely recommend that. Would I recommend ABC Cocina yes there were a few good things . Would I go back , yes I would give it another try .”
