“Excellent service. We had no idea how to order or eat oysters, but they taught us all about them and made recommendations on what to get. The oysters, chowder and broth bowl were all exceptional. The beer and cider selection was wide enough to please most any pallette. The vibe is immaculate and it's a lovely environment to chill.”
“We visited here last night and had a wonderful meal and experience. They have really turned this space into a high end eatery with great art and design throughout. It is obvious how much thought went into every decision in this place! The open kitchen allowed us to talk directly with the chef and front of house staff who were both extremely knowledgable and great to talk to. We are very lucky in the area to have many restaurants to serve diverse palates and this one is a fantastic addition to the rotation! Food-wise, we started with Tuxedo oysters and then got the Tuna Tataki and the Hamachi Crudo which were both rich and wonderful complimented with some very interesting fruit and sauces/purees. I also had one of the best bowls of chowder that I have ever had, strong praise coming from a New England tranplant! Presentation was spot on! And the sake choices are excellent as well! I would highly recommend Brine and Stave to anyone who wants to explore beyond pub food and burgers (not that there is anything wrong with that and there are great choices nearby for those too!).”
“My son and I really enjoyed the sushi. I’m looking forward to trying more menu items on my next visit.”
“Serious effort was put in to this new space. Excellent ambiance, lighting and quality execution. Wine selection was outstanding, surprised to see some choices on the list — vastly different than most places in the area with very reasonably priced bottles. Lucky Lime oysters were the best I’ve had since Maxie’s in Ithaca. A true contender in this space. Highly curated all around and well worth the night out.”
“Atmosphere and service were impeccable. Food needs big improvements. The oysters came out luke warm - but for the most part still tasted good. I’ve had a lot of oysters and I’ve only ever seen them come out over ice - but not here. I actually ate a bad oyster and it happened so fast I didn’t have time to stop it. I should’ve smelled each one before eating them - but I’ve never had to. The shucking was half assed. Soooooo many chunks of shell. Then our mains - my husband ordered the sea bream - it was light, fresh and beautifully prepared. I had the cup of noods - when I say it tasted like a pound of salt was dumped in - I feel like that might be an understatement. It looked beautiful but totally and completely indedible. And hardly warm. Should’ve come out piping hot. The owners were great - they took it off the bill because I couldn’t have more than two bites. Overall - a very cute place that has great service. I hope to see it succeed and I hope honest feedback allows them to make improvements so they stick around for a long time!”
