On a sun-drenched hill overlooking the Appalachians lives a 117-acre regenerative polyculture farm where honeybees hum, sheep graze, and woodland hogs forage. Wild things move through old growth forests, estate vineyards, rolling pastures, and wildflowers. We call it paradise. Burnt Hill Farm, in the heart of the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve just 30 minutes outside Washington, D.C., is the culmination of a decade spent watching, listening, and learning from the land. Our wines are lively, expressive, and unmistakably Burnt Hill. Each bottle is a reflection of this place, fermented with wild yeast, aged in native ash wood foeders, and shared exclusively on the farm. Our seasonal menu, created by Chef-Partner Tae Strain, showcases the bounty of the Mid-Atlantic through ingredients grown here and sourced from local artisans and watermen. We invite you to gather at our table and experience a farm where beauty and intention grow wild. Looking to book The Chef’s Counter? “Worth the drive from Baltimore!! Similar to Old Westminster Winery, Burnt Hill is such a breath of fresh air. The views are spectacular from the hill top. Upon arrival, I was greeted by warm, welcoming hostesses and seated immediately with my glass of Blanc de Blanc (love a good sparkling wine). After that the experience just got better and better - the food and wine choices were top tier! Ashli and Drew were present, and spoke with each table - how sweet! Kyle, my server was great as well, and knowledgeable. We ordered the Estate tasting, Nectar, and Flora (I think that's the name) - all very good wines! For food, we ordered the sausage pizza, charcuterie, and pana cotta. Loved everything - the charcuterie might be my favorite pairings with the wine. The foccacia pizzas are a nice switch up from OWW and provided a heavier base for more wine to be enjoyed. Overall, everything was as expected or better!! I can't wait to return with more friends and family as this was a wonderful experience that everyone should know!”
“If I could give 6 stars, I would! We had a wonderful experience at Burnt Hill Farm! This magical place is tucked away on a beautiful farm in Montgomery County where everything from the wine to the very plates and bowls we ate off were locally sourced. From the elegant interior design (LOVE) to the warm and welcoming ambiance, we loved every second of our visit here! The staff and service were phenomenal and the pours of the wine tasting we selected were both delicious and generous. From the minute you arrive, you are greeted by friendly staff who serve you a glass of refreshing Champagne method Blanc de Blancs. Next, we were guided along a pathway towards the front of the building (there are three buildings on site - we ate in the tasting room; the other is the lounge and then there is a chef’s experience room we are definitely planning to try once they begin taking reservations - side note: this will offer a multi-course experience for up to 12 people!) The hostess took a Polaroid of us with the beautiful scenery behind us and then sat us at our table. There were sheep free roaming around the property and all were encouraged to walk around to explore and enjoy the sights. A reservation allowed us up to three hours to enjoy the farm and we were never rushed. Brian, our server, was knowledgeable, welcoming, and an absolute pleasure! The food was equally delicious and the flavors were the perfect compliment to out wine pairings. We enjoyed how quiet and private it felt - even the music volume was at the perfect level! We cannot say enough good things about our time at Burnt Hill. The price is exactly what you pay for and we will definitely be returning customers!”
“Have you ever been somewhere that before you're even leaving, you're trying to figure out when you'll visit next? That's how we felt about Burnt Hill Farm. Every single part - from the architecture of the buildings, the chairs we sat in, the food we ate, and the drinks we enjoyed - were created with intention. I genuinely will never get over about how gorgeous it was inside and out (and it was freezing outside, which says a lot!!!) Now the food and drink: the food was impeccable and why we are planning our next visit. We spent time in the tasting room and definitely want to check out the lounge room. My fiancé enjoyed the wine and even bought a bottle to take home. They even have a non-alcoholic tasting which I enjoyed - I appreciated that even at a winery, they have that option for people. Do yourself a favor and book a reservation ASAP.”
“Our visit to Burnt Hill Farm was truly an elevated dining experience that was also so much fun. Everyone in my party of six was humbled by the beauty of Burnt Hill and excited by what we learned about wine. Your staff was a complete joy to interact with; the food was so pure and delicious. The level of hospitality your team has achieved is so important and often missing from dining out; we are all looking forward to returning.”
“I visited Burnt Hill Farm Winery and had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, the wine was really good, the food was good, and the staff were exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. A few enhancements would make the experience even better: outdoor seating, guest access to more of the beautiful grounds, and more protein-focused entrée options on the menu. Overall, a lovely destination and I look forward to visiting again.”
