“This was a wonderful experience i will never forget. Beautiful boat cruise to their private island for and amazing meal. Family ran and operated, you will not leave hungry! I would do the again every year.”
“This was such a fun trip! Mom had a fantastic birthday celebrating and the kids got to run free around the island. The food was delicious and service was friendly. A must do if you visit Maine.”
“All aboard the Bennie Alice for a traditional adventure and feast on Cabbage Island! The boat ride to the island is peaceful and relaxing, offering stunning views of Boothbay Harbor and Linekin Bay. As your stomach rumbles in anticipation of the feast ahead, the captain shares interesting points of interest and historical information about the surrounding area. A cash bar is available both on the boat and on the island. Once you arrive, you can choose an outdoor table and unwind while the feast cooks in large troughs by the water. Shortly after, a cup of fish chowder is brought to your table to enjoy. When the main attraction is ready, the dinner bell rings and guests line up to receive their trays, complete with an egg, potato, onion, corn on the cob, clams, and two whole lobsters! One person in our party and got the chicken, a generous portion and nicely cooked. Everything was fantastic and enjoyable; however, the onion and egg were exactly as simple as they sound. I understand it’s a traditional meal, but a few fixings for the potato would have been a welcome addition, eating it plain was definitely an experience, to say the least! The blueberry cake served at the end of the meal is just okay. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience that I would absolutely do again. Just keep in mind that this is a traditional, purist-style meal, and you’ll truly appreciate it for what it is. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and you can tell they take great pride in their island.”
“Wonderful day! Take a boat out of Boothbay harbor ME and feast on lobster with fixings and homemade blueberry cake! Make reservation early because they sell out everyday! Recommended at least 1 month in advance for reservations if you want weekend . Cash only. Worth every penny!! Many generations family owned. Only run this for a limited time in the Summer.”
“Invited by friends who had enjoyed it previously, and did not disappoint. Left promptly, friendly crew. Quite a bit more people than I imagined on the trip, but it never felt crowded. Drinks available on a 45 min tour of the beautiful harbor, with commentary and history. Arrived at Cabbage island, felt like a hidden summer camp with amenities. Food was great for what it was. The experience and trip made it all worthwhile. As far as food goes, Blueberry cake was in fact legendary. Fish chowder was fish stew. Lobsters and other accoutrements were amazing. Even in inclement weather, it was an awesome experience, I look forward to sharing it with family and friends.”
