Panacea is a Global Cuisine restaurant in the Amenia neighborhood of Amenia.
“We had an excellent meal at Panacea. We started with the spicy tuna crispy rice and caesar salad which were both fresh and delicious. We then ordered every pasta dish on the menu (campanelle, radiatori and lumache) and we were blown away. Each dish was so flavorful and distinct, we couldn’t pick a favorite. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding and it was unreal! The atmosphere is great too - cozy space, amazing service, and the owners are wonderful people. We can’t wait to come back. 🙂”
“Older 1880s building beautifully finished for a lovely evening - with pillar candles in the fireplace. The staff was super friendly and both owners came by to say hello at different points in our meal. I went with two of my sons and we had such a great experience! The signature cocktails and the spicy tuna and crispy rice appetizer were delicious. My sons had the truffle cheddar bombolini and a golden beet salad. So many layers of flavors! Then we ordered all three pasta dishes with the burrata cheese and, after sampling each other's plates, spent the rest of that course arguing about which was the best - we each liked our own dish the most, of course! For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding (oh my goodness, soooo good!), the yummy chocolate mousse and a root beer float made with root beer from Saranac. We left stuffed and so happy! Jacob and Khendum have created a thoughtful, locally and artisanally sourced, and delicious menu. Clearly a lot of love has gone into their place. We will be back!!”
“I’ve now eaten at Panacea many times — always coming back (this week, two times in a week!) because this restaurant is consistently delicious and creative. Amenia and the neighboring areas are lucky to have such talented, kind and innovative chefs and their friendly crew in our small town area. I wish I had photos of my most recent meals, which include the P.F.C. (Panacea Fried Chicken, batter made with rice flour) and a gluten-free vegetarian pasta dish. I also regularly get their sea bass pho. The curried spinach, bok choi and Japanese sweet potato side dishes are insane too. DO NOT skip out on dessert!! Homemade ice cream, sticky toffee pudding, dark chocolate mousse, root beer float…there’s something for everyone. Do yourself a favor and give it a visit For my fellow GF-ers: I’m a massive foodie who had to go gluten in the last year and I’ve searched far and wide for the best gluten-free fried chicken and pastas in NYC and in London. Panacea’s is easily the best. I have been let down by many a gluten-free pasta and this homemade pasta is just as good — if not better — as the best fresh, non gluten-free pasta I’ve had anywhere in the world. I’m just down the road but would seriously drive hours to come to this restaurant.”
“Panacea is officially my new favorite restaurant. My husband and I shared several dishes, and every single one was incredible. We started with the Caesar salad and the spicy tuna on crispy rice. For our next round, we ordered the gluten-free handmade Campanelle pasta and the fried chicken (also naturally gluten-free!). The chicken was unbelievably tender, and the side of sweet potatoes with wasabi aioli was insanely delicious. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding—OMG, I’ll be dreaming about it tonight. The staff were wonderful: so kind, so accommodating. The vibe was perfect too—moody lighting, cool artwork, and a playlist that went from Sade to the Grateful Dead. You can tell this place is made with so much love. It’s truly something special.”
“Make it a point to visit Panacea whenever you’re anywhere near Amenia. It was hands down the best meal I’ve had in ages. The cozy vibe feels like stepping into someone’s warm Upstate home, the staff is wonderfully attentive, and every dish was somehow better than the last—my kids licked their plates clean. If you’re gluten-free, don’t miss their homemade pastas. And whatever you do, don’t sleep on the Bullwinkle mousse.”
