“This place is amazing and a must STOP! We came in not knowing much about it except the menu and prices seemed good. We were immediately wow'ed by Nicole, the sweetest server. She was attentive and helpful. The decor is great! Loved all the antiques and fun memorabilia. The food was delicious. We eat a more vegetarian type diet and completely enjoyed the beans, cole slaw, bread, salmon, veggie kabobs and sautéed mushrooms. Such a generous amount of food that was both filling and healthy. They're attached to a liquor store they own which is open late 7 days/week. It's a fun experience to realize the restaurant is half in NM & half in TX!”

“The brisket and BBQ sauce are amazing, as are the cole slaw, potato salad, and even the bread. The beans are good, but nothing special. I am extremely pleased with the service. We called in for a same day reservation for 14 people on a Saturday (5 hours in advance), and they were able to accomodate us (we asked for 4 pm, they offered us 4:30 pm). The waitress was on top of our orders and she was basically available every time we needed her. The food even came out incredibly fast. I was very impressed.”

“Had a huge baked potato with brisket. Was delicious. Nachos were fire, literally. If you like spice you'll love them. We were a party of 13 and they accommodated us quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I snapped a pic of my Cosmopolitan. The bartender suggested it after it was explained I like sweet drinks.”

“What a breath of fresh air. I don't often give 5 star reviews but this one was well earned. I was visiting family in town and up until this point some of our choices for food weren't the best of what we expected so far. From the moment we walked in the door it was fantastic. From the host to the server to the manager even the decor, we were impressed by all. The menu was pretty vast but still reasonably priced. We all ended up getting a combination of meats and sides. When it arrived at the table we were amazed at the sheer amount of food in front of us. During dinner we had great conversations with the manager and our server was a sweetheart. As for the food..... It was amazing. Everything we ate was exceptional. Ribs, sausage, brisket, chicken, etc.... potato salad, fresh bread and great bar drinks. For a simple trip to diner, they made it a memorable part of our trip. Definitely will be back when we're in town.”

“I had a fantastic experience at The State Line! The meats were absolutely delicious, tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The margaritas were excellent as well, refreshing and well-balanced. We were seated right away with no waiting time, which was a pleasant surprise. Portions were generous, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Overall, a great place for BBQ and drinks—I’ll definitely be coming back”
