“We took an opportunity to try the Gritz Cafe and really enjoyed it. The building, though rebuilt from a fire, gave a feeling of an old structure that had been lovingly maintained. My wife had the fried green tomatoes BLT and I had the burger. They certainly don't skimp on the portion size and they tasted great. The menu listed tiramisu and several other desserts which we had to skip due to those large portions. Lauren served us and she was a true gem. We will be back when time permits.”

“I've waited too long to post my review and sadly, cannot remember what we ate. I do certainly remember that we enjoyed it thoroughly. We'd been driving for about ten hours and my wife found this place doing a search on her phone. It was as casual as I hoped it would be, but still quite nice. It's a main street kind of place, with some curbside parking along the street. It seemed to me that it must a locals' favorite. If I was a local, it could be my favorite.”

Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The wine selection is excellent and pairs perfectly with the menu. What really made the experience stand out was the service — every staff member, from the host to our server to the bartender, was friendly, attentive, and professional. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. Highly recommend Grits Café for a great meal and an all-around fantastic dining experience!”

Having eaten my way across Georgia, my palate has grown familiar with the state’s culinary rhythm—so naturally, I found myself comparing flavors and textures as I dined. While I enjoyed my meal overall, the salmon entrée could have used a little more seasoning to elevate it from good to memorable. Next time, I’ll branch out and try another dish—perhaps one of their signature grits-based plates or a local favorite the regulars rave about. Still, Grits Café delivers on charm, hospitality, and a clear passion for Southern cooking. It’s definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Middle Georgia and want a taste of authentic, down-home comfort served with a touch of elegance.”

“We went to Grits to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We have been here many times for special occasions and loved it. This time very disappointed. The food was ok except for the French onion soup which had very little cheese. But the biggest disappointment was the service or lack of it. Our waitress seemed like she did not want to be working. Not pleasant at all. She took care of our basic needs with rushed speed and no extra service. No mention of our anniversary! Excellent service and food have always been why we go to Grits. Neither were excellent this time and the prices are much increased. There are new options for high end restaurants in Forsyth and Griffin now. This will be our last trip to Grits.”
