Yella on the Water is a Mediterranean restaurant in the Gloucester neighborhood of Gloucester.
“Yella’s was absolutely amazing. We had our anniversary dinner there on a beautiful May evening, and the waterfront patio was the perfect setting. The service was warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable — we felt so well taken care of. And the food was incredible: fresh, flavorful, and memorable. Such a special spot. If I could give six stars, I would!”

Plenty of parking, with gorgeous outdoor patio overlooking the water. The food was fantastic and the menu was marked for various allergies. I’m GF and was able to eat here with no problems. You’ll get a high end restaurant experience but I honestly didn’t feel the prices were all that high-end. It was appropriate for adult dining. The safe was friendly and attentive. Of particular interest to my own clients… Yella has on LGBTQ friendly vibe! It’s also accessible for those with mobility needs, such as seniors. An excellent choice for retirees who want to relax, eat something healthy and enjoy the sun and water. Lots to do in the area when you’re done!”
“The service and food were great. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place with waterfront view and fresh ingredients. It was a bit pricey but totally worth it.”
“The meal was unreal—easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time in Gloucester. Ewan behind the bar made it even better. He was awesome—knew the menu from top to bottom and took the time to walk me through everything, which honestly helped a ton when deciding what to order. I went with the Lamb Pappardelle, and my girlfriend got the crispy shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were so good—the crisp on the shrimp really kicks them up to another level. But the lamb pappardelle… wow. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in my life. I definitely didn’t expect something that good from a spot at the end of the boulevard. Ewan mentioned the chef is from Lebanon, which totally explains the uniqueness of the menu and the incredible flavors. You can really taste it in every bite. I may have just found my new regular Friday spot. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Yella on the Water!”
“Nestled right by the ocean in beautiful Gloucester, MA, Yella on the Water is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving exceptional Mediterranean and seafood dishes. From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a wonderfully cozy and intimate atmosphere that feels both welcoming and authentically New England. It's the kind of small, inviting place where you immediately feel at ease. And let's talk about the food! While everything we tried was fantastic, I simply have to highlight the clam chowder. Without exaggeration, this was the best clam chowder I have ever had – incredibly creamy, packed with tender clams, and perfectly seasoned. It's a true masterpiece. Their seafood dishes are equally fresh and expertly prepared, showcasing the best of what the ocean has to offer, and their Mediterranean options are vibrant and flavorful. Beyond the incredible food, the staff deserves a special mention. Every single person we encountered was genuinely friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about providing a wonderful dining experience.”
