The Settlers Inn is a Farm to Table restaurant in the Hawley neighborhood of Hawley.
“Very old cute hotel. The rooms are cool the atmosphere is wonderful and woodsy. If you can get a room with a soaking tub its worth the extra money. The staff is really cool and courteous. Explore the grounds theres all sorts of wonder just out back.”
“Overall a GREAT experience. I went there with a friend for a girls decompression. The Inn is very clean. Bedrooms could use a little updating but that would be my only critique. The grounds are stunning and there are many walking trails. The staff and Terry were the cherry on top. Terry was very accomodating and super helpful with suggestions. You are able to use the facilities in the sister hotels. I took a yoga class at the gym and the instructor was super hospitable as well. We plan to come again!”
“Just went for dinner, didn't stay at the hotel. Very cozy, well decorated place. Farm to table delicious well executed meals. Octopus was tender and delicious, my chicken was amazing and the sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Well done, will be back.”
“This review is based solely on our restaurant experience, as we were not hotel guests. We chose The Settlers Inn to celebrate our 35th anniversary, thinking it would be a fitting place to enjoy an upscale dining experience for such a special occasion. The atmosphere was pleasant, and our server was attentive and accommodating throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the food left us disappointed. We ordered the tilefish entrée and the New York strip steak with the intention of sharing both dishes, as we often do. While the tilefish was cooked properly and had a nice flaky texture, it lacked the depth of flavor we expected. The steak was even more disappointing. Not only was it lacking in flavor, but it was also difficult to cut, gristly, and chewy—far from the tender, juicy steak we anticipated at this price point. Even the potato and vegetable sides needed additional salt to bring out any flavor. To our server's credit, he promptly removed the unfinished steak entrée and offered a replacement. We chose the rosemary pork tenderloin, which was certainly more tender, but it too fell short in terms of flavor. At that point, we decided not to send back a second dish. Whether it was our personal taste or the restaurant's approach to seasoning and preparation, the meal simply did not meet our expectations. Unfortunately, what was intended to be a memorable anniversary dinner turned out to be an underwhelming dining experience. While we appreciated the service and atmosphere, the quality and flavor of the food did not justify the upscale reputation or price.”
“We recently booked a Mother’s Day dinner at the Settlers Inn. Unfortunately, due to a few family factors we had to cancel our reservations, which we did 47 hours and 19 minutes before our reservation. Well the Settlers Inn still charged my card $250 for a cancellation fee and said oh well you were 41 minutes past the 48 hour window and to top it off they didn’t even advise of a 48 hour cancellation fee. My wife is a school teacher and couldn’t get to the text to confirm cancellation until her school day was over which was 41 minutes. She even called after she hit option 9 to cancel via text but never got a text response back to she called and the gentleman she spoke to confirmed her cancellation and didn’t say a word about the fee. I never write reviews however this place is a scam and others need to know.”
