“My wife and I visited Monterey Grill on Friday night for date night after receiving a recommendation to try it. We had 6pm reservations. When we arrived everyone was attentive and super nice. It wasn’t crowded which was surprising. Our waited was Glenn who was very polite, friendly and accommodating. He offered us recommendations and was very cautious to serve while not rushing us. We started off with the Angry Cashew Shrimp which was Glenn’s recommendation and it was amazing! We followed this with a 8oz filet each with the black garlic butter and I got the lobster tail on the side. Both entrees were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing especially with the butter added. We also got the Parmesan truffle fries and Brussel sprouts to share and both were out of this world as well. For dessert we shared the chocolate cake which was HUGE very good and moist. When we were leaving there was a band playing in the bar area and people dancing. Looks like it’s a nice hang out on the weekends. We will be back again and hope to stay for some music as well! 10/10!!!”
“This place is phenomenal! It started with Aiden the Valet, who made the first impression this was going to be a special experience with a warm welcoming smile. After we were seated, Glenn our server took care of us making sure drinks were perfect and food came out quick without rushing us. He set the perfect tempo for our fine dining experience. The food was all awesome! Rarely do I see a steakhouse get fish and chicken right. This is one of those places. I got the 12 oz filet, which was cooked Medium Rare. I got the Béarnaise Sauce, but didn't need it because the steak tasted great on its own. Over all, it was an excellent meal. There was a live band that played all the funky tunes from the 70's and 80's that was great but was a little too loud for me. Don't forget to leave room for dessert!”
“Had such a great experience here last night (2/21/26). The atmosphere was lovely, and the live music added so much! Our server, Khalil was attentive but not overbearing, knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly, the food was outstanding. We shared the crab fried rice as an appetizer (even though it’s technically a side), and ordered the salmon, short rib, scallops and seafood cobb salad. Every single thing was stellar. Such a great night! We’ll be back for sure.”
“My wife and I dined here last night and overall had a really great experience. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was warm, welcoming, and set the tone for the evening. Our waitress was absolutely on point—attentive, friendly, and made sure we never needed a thing. The drinks were slam’n 🔥, easily one of the highlights of the night. Our entrées were tasty and well prepared, and we truly enjoyed most of the food. The only downside for us was the meatball appetizer—it just didn’t hit the mark compared to everything else we had. That said, great service, solid food, and excellent drinks made for an enjoyable night out. We’d definitely come back and try more from the menu.”
“In a world full of premium steakhouses, Monterey Grill is still trying to find its place in the market. In my opinion, it falls short when it comes to uniqueness both in flavoring and price point. We visited for our anniversary, and I will say the atmosphere is romantic. The dining area is dimly lit, and the live band adds a nice touch, especially with the lead singer engaging with guests. Service was top-notch from both the hostess and the waiter. However, there were a few issues. They couldn’t locate my reservation booked through Resy, though luckily it wasn’t too busy. The dry-aged NY strip was tender but lacked flavor inside. The sea bass was bland as well, including the noodles and veggies. The tuna poke was also a disappointment. I highly recommend other steakhouses like Steak 48 if you’re looking for a true premium experience. But if you want something local and convenient, this spot could work. When you’re paying premium steakhouse prices, the food needs to shine just as much as the ambiance and that’s where Monterey Grill still has room to grow.”
