Duryea's Orient Point is a Mediterranean restaurant in the Orient Point neighborhood of Orient.
“No Summer trip is complete without a Duryea’s afternoon overlooking Gardiners Bay. Service is friendly and familiar. In a lot of ways, being there feels like you and the people around you are all in on the North Fork’s best kept secret. While the original location will always hold a special place in my heart, there is something about the harbor and the beach that makes this spot feel local and lovable. Can’t wait to visit this Summer and check out the Beach Club!”
“The atmosphere is excellent. The place looks fantastic, and the food was terrific. It was my first time here since Duryea’s took over. I was not aware of how the restaurant was. No one explained that we had to place our order and pay for it before they brought out the food to us. After half an hour, I asked someone, and they looked at me weirdly, but explained to me that we needed to check the mark what we wanted and then go to the cashier to pay for the food. I left a great tip, thinking we would get service. No one brings your food out; we NEVER saw a waiter come to us. I was highly disappointed with that. Because I saw the waiter going to other tables but never to us to ask us how everything was. I want to return because the food was terrific, but tipping someone who will never come to the table is rude and unacceptable. They should let the customers know how the restaurant works as well.”
“We were soooo impressed by this meal. First off, we were under a time crunch because I had to catch the local ferry but the team made it certain that we would have our meal in time for it. The lamb was INSANE. Hands down some of the best my father and I have ever had. We were super impressed. We loved the atmosphere, it was chill and relaxed. We definitely would come back again.”
“OK, this is what I’m going to say we walked in and we sat down and they didn’t tell us that we got a write on a clipboard and go pay. They just instantly want to bring us water and then they come to the table after 30 minutes to tell us that we got a write on the clipboard and take it to the cashier and pay then wait for the food That being said there was not much on the menu and then they don’t have lobster or lobster pasta The food was just OK overpriced no service and I put down drinks. I paid for my Coke Diet Coke and then they said no you didn’t pay for no Diet Coke and Cokes and I said yes I did so if you want refill you gotta pay and get back up what kind of places that you gotta keep getting back up to order food I never seen something like this in my life, you’re in this kind of atmosphere. This kind of place and this is how you get treated terrible. I will never come back again. It’s God awful don’t waste your time and effort. Have a waitress serve. You have people to wanna give you do for you when you go out and spend money.”
“Worst restaurant concept since McDonalds. Checking off my order and prepaying?! My “family style” appetizer came with one piece of bread. After finishing most of it and having a nice plate of sauce left, I kindly requested an additional piece of bread to finish enjoying the dish. I was told I had to get up and pre pay (again) for the additional piece of bread. Never in all of my years of travel, living, eating, drinking, in any establishment have I been expected to get up out of my seat, MID MEAL, and pay for additional bread, ESPECIALLY AFTER BEING SERVED ONE PIECE. Oh, except for in mcdonalds. How any human involved in owning or patronizing a restaurant or any other business in hospitality would expect something like this to exist is beyond me. I obviously dont care about price, in fact I think most people that come here know what they're in for, when it comes to price. But to eliminate the most basic form of service from a restaurant is an embarrassment and major middle finger to customers by the owner of this establishment. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. “High end” is now just cutting margins and dialing up being rude. So dont worry, I’ll give it right back to you here on the internet. Food tasted EXCELLENT though.”
