“We hosted our recent Grad party here and everything was perfect! The owner is very easy to work with and was there to make sure things were satisfactory. Esmeralda was great to work with for the planning stages. I cant thank them enough and would recommend trying them out for dinner and drinks.”

“Don’t lump El Charro in with all of the other Mexican restaurants! This place is special. This is certainly the nicest Mexican restaurant in Oxford and maybe the state and maybe anywhere. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious, decorated well and laid out in a way that makes sense. An extensive menu with all of the usual suspects and their special dishes. Loads of tortilla chips selections with various toppings. Numerous salad and side options. Entrees and fajitas for days. The chips are crispy and not too oily. The salsa is thicker than some but good. The Mexicanos taquitos are excellent. The rice is good. The Camerones Fundidos is the most fun you can have with shrimp in a restaurant! Side it with street corn, off the cob! The margaritas have their own menu and they have a full bar. They even have the elusive Skinny Margarita! Eat here. Return. And have fun!”

“This was our second time in. Got there around 1pm and we were seated right away. Drink order was taken right away and our server was really nice. Chips and salsa came to the table right away. They were really paying attention and staying on top of things. The restaurant was very pretty and very clean. I really liked the vibe. We both liked what we ordered and it was fresh and hot. Our server was wonderful. She came by multiple times to check on us and even brought us extra ice for our tea just in case we wanted it. The presentation of the food was great. We don't live in Oxford but visit fairly often and will definitely go back here..we are originally from Arizona and finding decent Mexican food in Mississippi has been a challenge. This place was really good. Give them a try...I think you will enjoy it!”

“Quality is meh prices a bit high $$ and flavor lacking. 3 out 5 stars it wasn't terrible but expected more. Staff was great and friendly. except my shrimp they gave me huge shrimp. The atmosphere is gorgeous and inviting. They are a little proud on the prices of the food. Kiddo wanted a side item Mac n cheese tasted processed and over cooked soggy noodles. I think the cast iron plate over cooked them. My shrimp fajitas were great huge shrimp flavorful great portion. Fiance's mixed nachos chicken and beef. It wasn't the good queso cheese it was like super processed, the beef had a weird flavor like onion powder, garlic powder, and maybe a tiny bit of cumin and weird after taste. All in all if you want seafood go to there. If you like regular stuff you can get at other Mexican restaurants go to one of the others.”
