The Evening Citizen is a Cocktail Bar restaurant in the Palm Springs neighborhood of Palm Springs.
“I love a speakeasy that actually commits to being a speakeasy. The entrance is very unassuming, the vibes on the inside were really cool (a little loud though), and the drinks were made with care. The one I got was described to be similar to a gimlet on the menu (I don’t remember the name of it), it was really delicious.”
“Make sure you look for the entrance in the back. I got lost and took me a bit to find. Super sexy cocktail bar. Lots of blacks and reds and dim lighting. A menu is presented on a newspaper, but the bar tender at the time knew his business and could recommend strong cocktails based on your preferences. Great bar for sophisticated drinks!”
“Lovely speakeasy with great decor, music and energy. They lean into the speakeasy vibe yet keep it light and fun. Had three great cocktails, but the Edicion Tardia was a standout. A unique combo of subtle flavors and must try. Nico (our bartender) was doing it all and was still friendly and engaging. He’s the best and I highly recommend a stop here!”
“Classic speakeasy. They nail the vibes, drinks are great. Pricey but the drinks and ambiance back it up. Service was a little slow but very friendly. Great experience overall.”
“Had a small group of us shown up around 6 pm and we were greeted by this icy cold, unwelcoming female bartender. She had dark brown straight hair, scrawny looking, an icy stare, and monotonic voice. She questioned us if we had a reservation and held us by the door a full minute even though the bar was mostly empty. Finally a pleasant male server walked up and found us seatings and made our evening a more pleasant evening. If the owner is reading this review, please say thank you to the tall male server who worked on July 4th evening for making our holiday trip a not-so-bad-one.”
