The inspiration for Le Virtù comes from our experiences at the tables of family, friends, farms, and eateries all over Italy's Abruzzo region. We’re a down-to-earth place with a casual, unfussy vibe, which best suits Abruzzo, and our South Philly neighborhood. For the warmer months, we have one of the city's largest, most attractive (and dog-friendly!) outdoor dining spaces.
“We started with a salad featuring Gorgonzola that was absolutely delicious — a perfect, well-balanced opener. Then came the star of the evening: homemade pasta in Calabrian chili oil. Rich, bold, and beautifully made — it was the kind of dish you think about the next day. The stuffed crepes were equally delightful, though by that point the pasta and salad had filled us up, and we boxed most of them up to enjoy later. For dessert, a light, fresh strawberry shortcake was the ideal ending — not too heavy, just the right note to close a wonderful meal. The cocktails were strong, well-crafted, and delicious throughout. To top it all off, we sat outside on the patio, which was a lovely way to spend a summer evening. Warm, attentive service rounded out a truly memorable night. Highly recommend!”
“Cool and trendy for date night but also somewhere you can bring your parents / family. We sat at the bar and had dinner (great bar seating specials on weeknights). Food was superb, rustic Italian (specifically from the Abruzzo region) with a unique flare. Delightful and expansive amaro selection. We loved it and will be back!! Thank you for a great great meal.”
“Likely the best restaurant experience we've ever had. Food was amazing, service was phenomenal, vibes were immaculate. As a queer couple, sometimes we feel out of place at fancy spots like this, but we never felt so at home as we did at Le Virtu. Spent $200 after tax and tip for 2 on Valentine's Day and worth every penny. We'll be back!”
“Wonderfully authentic Abruzzian fare. Classic South Philadelphia vibe. Solid cocktails- olive oil rinsed martini very delicate. Pastas were well layered with balanced flavors. Lamb ragu exceptional. Pistachio afagato a great close. Attentive professional service. Highly recommended.”
“Food was great, it is pricey compared to portion - specifically the pasta. I do not recommend the half chicken, not sure what about it but it was not good. the restaurant is very cozy and has nice atmosphere. Service was great.”
