The Woods House

“This place is amazing! When we first entered we were greeted by the bartender Stephanie. She was very welcoming and friendly. As we sat at the bar waiting for our table she went over the history of the home and its original owner John Woods. Then she gave us a menu to look over and asked us if we had any questions. She was the first impression of the Woods House and she nailed it! I had the fish pie, my wife had the Guinness pot roast and mac and they were both excellent. We also had an order of scotch egg and they were excellent as well. The food, staff and atmosphere were amazing. The dinner was also very reasonable compared to other restaurants. I cannot say it enough, you need to try this place. It is not only a great restaurant but an awesome experience. We will be back!!!”

“A group of us went here to celebrate a birthday and it was a fantastic experience. We sat in the basement area by the bar, really dope atmosphere. Service was good, drinks were really good, maybe could’ve been a bit stronger but they were tasty. The scotch broth was a hit, delicious. Same with the tomato soup and potato soup. The pot roast mac, mash and bangers, fish sandwich and chicken sandwich were all really good as well. I can’t wait to go back here, even if it’s just to pick up some fish sandwiches. Good job, folks!”

“This historical building is easy to get to and perfectly hidden in Hazelwood on a back street. The atmosphere is laid back and cozy. The staff members were open and friendly. Somebody checked in on every table. We had the absolute best waitress. She was fun and engaging and very helpful. The inside is very rustic and has a log cabin homey vibe. It was so nice Saturday we ate outside under the awnings. This pub is adorable, the food and drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. Everything is well portioned and don’t leave without trying a dessert. It’s so wonderful, what they have done there. I hope it inspires other people to revitalize other sections of the city in a positive way.”

“Quaint Scottish Irish pub type eatery in Pittsburgh Simple pub menu with a slight American twist Service was excellent. Interior of restaurant is modern yet with a pub atmosphere Food was ok or good Fish and chips Haddock was over breaded but fries were fresh and well seasoned Tomato bisque soup had a fresh tart tomato 🍅 flavor Not memorable but decent considering ambience and service Bread pudding thick and hearty! No Guinness stout dark bread! A real missed opportunity! Not on my list of repeats! Guinness pot roast Mac unique but lacking the real deal Guinness gravy!”
