Hummingbird is a Southern restaurant in the East Five Points neighborhood of Raleigh.
“I loved this place! The oysters and the bread pudding were amazing! The chicken bahn mi was very good and the blackened flounder sandwich was good but I wouldn’t get it again because the fish wasn’t fried hard enough to my liking and the sandwich was too soft. The homemade potato chips were really good! The drinks were really good as well. I will be back very soon”
“Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant! We sat on the patio during a cooler day but the heater and wind blockera kept us warm. We ordered the shrimp po boy and the trout open face sandwich, both were pretty good! The trout sandwich lacked a bit of flavor but over a great choice for a light lunch. Drinks came out quickly, service was super quick, and they didn't rush us out when we stayed for an extra hour just chatting which I appreciated. They even came to fill my water up while we chitchatted even though we already paid for our meals. Ill be back!!”
“We had brunch on the patio, which was a nice setting and made for an enjoyable morning although the chairs are a bit uncomfortable. The food was good overall, though the drinks were just okay and didn’t really stand out. Service was a bit slow, and while everyone was pleasant, it felt like there was a lack of connection and attentiveness throughout the meal. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really wowed us either. Overall, it was a decent brunch experience, but not memorable enough that I’d feel the need to make a special trip back.”
“Tori was wonderful from start to finish. She kindly accommodated our request for an outdoor table and went above and beyond all evening. Even while hosting, bussing, and running food, she still made time to refill our water and bring us another glass of wine when no one else had checked on us. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed every dish we ordered. The only downside was the service from the rest of the staff, as it often felt like our table was overlooked. I’m not sure if sitting outside affected that, but the staff had assured us the table was fine. We truly appreciated the accommodation, and Tori’s attentiveness and kindness really stood out.”
“We are on the search for restaurants with patios and this one had a wonderful outdoor seating section to have dinner with our dog. Food wise - the oysters were incredible. Definitely a must try. The deviled eggs were a little bland, wish it had some more to it - but still good. The PoBoy and the pulled pork sand-which with the chips were delicious. Drinks - Feedback: You should mark ingredients in your cocktail section that contains nuts as well. I ordered the Early Grey Fog Cocktail and after a sip, I knew there was almonds in it. Thankfully - I had a Benadryl and the waitress was very nice in offering a suggestion but that should be marked as an allergen. Overall, great food, good service and a good vibe!”
