River District, Rome, GA · $$
Aventine is a Southern restaurant in the River District neighborhood of Rome.
“There were 11 of us who travelled to Rome for the Georgia State Tennis Championships. We had a Saturday night patio reservation and loved our spot on their terrace. Briana was our server (complimented by Alex) and we had outstanding service!!! The vibe when you walk in automatically makes you want to stay for the whole evening. The restaurant interiors are very attractive and the patio seating was too. Behind the restaurant there is a fun green space with families and couples playing corn hole or just hanging out. The drinks were delicious and the wine list, carefully chosen. Several ladies tried the meatballs for an app and loved them. I opted for the Tucker Farms seasonal salad which was fresh and delicious. For my entree I had the Manhattan sirloin and WOWZERS…it did not disappoint. Across from me, a friend had the brisket gluten free pizza. We shared bites and her pizza was divine!!! Incidentally, several of us have strict allergy requirements. Myself being celiac another also celiac along with a vegetarian. Briana assured us that we could dine without the concern of cross confirmation and she was 100% correct! I can’t tell you how AMAZING it is to have dinner in a fine restaurant and be able to order just about anything! IYKYK! We all shared desserts, mine being a pot du crème which again, was out of this world good. I loved this restaurant, the outstanding service, and the incredible foods. The Manager even came out and thanked us for coming to dine with Aventine. Absolutely a class act experience. I highly recommend Aventine! PS the restrooms were immaculate and hats off to the chef and the back of the house. My dinner arrived piping hot!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼”
“Enjoyed a delicious steak and house made pasta celebration dinner with our son. The food was delicious - the way food should be made and taste. A truly delightful dining experience in Rome. Because the space is so open, it would be nice to have seating that is more cozy and plush for a more intimate feel.”
“Food is always delicious and service is excellent! Love the seasonal options. You can truly unwind and enjoy yourself here!”
“The food was great, and my server Briana was absolutely fantastic, she is really friendly and very knowledgeable about the food, she helped me pick the perfect cocktail, and answered all my questions about the food and drinks in great detail.”
“I used to live in Rome before a concept like this could even make it, and I was very excited to try it on my return. However, the use of salt was way over the top. The yogurt sauce on the cauliflower was very salty, then there were capers, which are very salty, and then they put coarse-grain salt as a sprinkle on top of three out of the 4 things we ordered, including the hamachi. The keftedes were the one saving grace that didn’t give you random mouthfuls of course of salt. The meatballs themselves were not overly flavorful, so the cranberry chutney and good quality feta let you make each bite as sweet, salty, and savory as you like. The service was excellent, starting with the greeting, and my cocktail was delicious.”
