Social Roost Kitchen and Bar is an American restaurant in the Downtown neighborhood of St. Petersburg.
“Social Roost was flat-out outstanding. Every dish hit, but the Pork Belly Benedict was the star of the table. Rich, tender pork belly with that perfect balance of crisp edges and melt-in-your-mouth bite, topped with beautifully poached eggs and a velvety sauce that pulled the whole thing together. It was indulgent without feeling heavy, and every bite felt like the kind of brunch you talk about afterward. The chicken and waffles were golden, crisp, and seasoned just right. The shrimp and grits were creamy, savory, and deeply comforting. The pancakes were soft, fluffy, and straight-up decadent with the whipped cream and berries. On top of that, everything was plated beautifully and looked just as good as it tasted. Social Roost knows how to do brunch right... flavor, texture, presentation, all of it. This was not just a good meal. This was a “clear the plate and start planning your return” kind of meal. So good... ump! 🤌🏾”
“I hate to not give this place 5 stars because the food was phenomenal and service was great, but atmosphere was just okay. The green seats are really uncomfortable and the long group table in the middle is annoying. I'd get it if it was just a bar but not great for a high end restaurant like the food belongs in. The staff was so friendly and not just at our table. We got the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, chicken pot pie and kids grilled cheese and fruit. All we're amazing!! We'll be back for the food!”
“Social Roost in St. Pete offers a dining experience that shines through its culinary quality, even when navigating the current challenges of the industry. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the food; the Portobello sandwich, in particular, was exceptional—perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. It is clear that the kitchen maintains a high standard for their dishes, making it a destination worth visiting for the menu alone. The environment is notably inclusive, providing a welcoming space for families and pet owners alike. The facility is also fully wheelchair accessible, which adds to its appeal as a thoughtful and accommodating local spot. While the service was slower than usual during this visit due to evident staffing shortages, the quality of the meal and the friendly, versatile atmosphere made the wait manageable. For those looking for a great meal in an accessible and pet-friendly setting, Social Roost is a solid choice, provided you arrive with a bit of patience for their hardworking team.”
“I’ve heard about Social Roost for brunch but lunch stole the show for me. I loved my meal and experience here! My waiter was so attentive and accommodating. The restaurant itself has sleek, modern decor with vibrant greens and golds and cool art choices. It’s a viibe. As for the food, I was captivated by the flavors. The samosas were plump and puffy, light and incredibly flaky. The crispiness was so memorable. The ground chicken filling was so good and savory, earthy and spiced but not spicy. They come with two dipping sauces, also delicious, a thin zesty sauce and a chunky, semi-sweet yougurt sauce. The mussels come in a robust, bright, savory, herbaceous sauce. It truly shined! However, five mussels in the dish didn’t open which was disappointing (and made the dish partially inedible) since that was a significant potion of the dish. My waiter did his best to compensate and I appreciate him and his service.”
“I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience at Social roostwas really disappointing. Our drinks took about 30 minutes to come out, and one of the glasses was cracked. Since gratuity is automatically included, our server was barely around and hard to find the entire time. When our food finally arrived and no silverware to actually eat it. They had to roll some… Our drinks were empty, our server never came back, and my friend had to go inside to grab utensils while our food sat there getting cold. The food itself tasted good, but the presentation was pretty plain and didn’t match the overall vibe or price point. The atmosphere is great, but the service really missed the mark. Hoping this was just an off night, but it definitely wasn’t a great experience but I would try it again! Drinks are great and the bartender took care of our broken glass he is sweetb”
