mystery patio @ lake inez is a Canadian restaurant in the Toronto neighborhood of Toronto.
“Lovely experience with genuinely wonderful people . Came for the mystery patio tasting menu and I can’t wait to come back to try other menu items and drinks. Chef Jay and Jacob created a wonderful menu with local Ontario ingredients. Chef Emilia and Zac ( hard to tell them apart cause they have the same haircut) provided special high quality wines and cocktails . But what stood out the most for me in this dining experience was the feeling that I was invited to dinner to reconnect at a close friend’s place. The dining atmosphere was casual , comfortable and welcoming . Chef Emilia , Jay and Jacob looked so happy to be sharing each dish or drink. Zac the owner with his great character ties it altogether by creating a fun memorable dining experience. Zac thanks for being a treasure and sharing one of your gems , Lake Inez , with Toronto.”
“We visited Lake Inez in February 2026. We shared a few dishes and found them all to be so delicious. The atmosphere was loud, but not in a bad way. Everyone was enjoying themselves, us included! The dessert was complex, with complimenting flavours, albeit a combination we weren’t expecting. Certainly not a restaurant where you think you can replicate the flavours at home! A wonderful east end spot, and worth visiting to try out new and interesting menus.”
“What a delightful experience! We heard a lot about Lake Inez, the menu looked really quirky and interesting, so we decided to give this a shot. It met our expectations completely . We started off with the absolutely delicious shawarma carpaccio and their baguette and butter. That butter itself as super addictive, the carpaccio was amazing. For mains , we got the mushroom puff pie-was good but wished the portion could have been more, then the pork belly A&W on route-that was absolutely delicious and the miso cod- really yum too. The dessert could have been a little more impressive ( didn’t feel sweet enough). The service was on point and ambience was beautiful! Would definitely be back in summer for the mystery patio.”
“We were super excited to finally get a table at Lake Inez, as it had been on our list for a while. The vibe of the place is really cute and romantic. However, unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with both the food and service. We ordered their pad kra pow take on a beef tartare, crudo, and tomasalata turnip salad to start. Although I did think the steak tartare was very unique, I thought the apps overall were just OK. We were almost done the crudo and felt like it was missing something. When we were already on our very last bites, the server mentioned that the guindilla that was meant to accompany the dish had been forgotten. We managed to have it with our final bite and realized how important that ingredient was to the dish. It was sad it had actually been missing the whole time. After our apps, we had to wait almost half an hour for our mains. I think even the server seemed a bit surprised when he noticed we still didn’t have them. Regardless, we did think the mains were stronger than the apps; we got the sablefish and the steak. The sablefish was the star of the night and was also a good portion size. The steak was good, but it didn’t really taste like it had truffle as it specified on the menu (not sure if that was also forgotten or not). Overall, we still had a great time despite being ultimately disappointed. Not sure if we just came on an off night, but I’d be willing to come back and give it another chance.”
“I had decent expectations coming here based on previous/recent reviews, but here are my honest thoughts. Food: 1- Tuna Strawberry: Best item we got, server told us everything they have is shareable but the portion sizes as mentioned in other reviews were really small. But the tuna was very, very fresh! It tasted amazing overall and was very refreshing. (Attached picture) 2- Pesto Pasta: It was okay. Bland but not bad, it did have a unique flavour to it but lacked depth and didn’t wow us. 3- Crab curry: the most disappointing item in my opinion. If you are ethnic you won’t enjoy it, isn’t as flavourful as you would expect it to be. Tasted a little like canned tomato soup, lacked flavour and love. Tomatoes were way too large. Overall- My rating only low because of the food. Service: Our server was amazing and he explained each menu item thoroughly as the item names were unique it was hard to understand exactly what we were getting. Host was also amazing, very charismatic. Food came out fairly quickly and it was great because once we finished one item, the other one came out few minutes later. U can tell the staff pays close attention. Atmosphere: I believe they were trying to go for a rustic, “homey” vibe. I see what they’re trying to do, I love it, but it can be executed better.”
