“Food was fantastic definitely pre lunch rush bar tender was my server and I felt neglected. No one at the door when I walked in. Cook looked at me and shrugged. I sat myself wasnt sure if it was ok but lack of staff interaction and the time crunch I had.”
“This place instantly became one of our favorites!! Everything we ordered (from lunch menu) was fresh and awesome - including rosemary biscuit that I forgot to take a picture. Our waiter Kevin was attentive and gave great descriptions about their food with his knowledge. And one last friendly reminder: bring cash to save you a convenience fee for using cards.”
“We had a great experience at Forklift in Tupelo! The service was outstanding—our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We started with the Voodoo Tater Tots, which were a fun and flavorful appetizer. I ordered the 12-ounce ribeye, and it was seasoned to perfection—juicy, tender, and cooked just the way I like it. Our friends had the patty melt, and honestly, it might have been the star of the table—absolutely delicious! I also tried a cup of the French onion soup. It wasn’t quite my favorite, possibly due to a sweeter onion base. Personally, I prefer a deeper flavor profile with notes of cognac or sherry in French onion soup. If I had one suggestion, it would be to refine the French onion soup and consider expanding the wine selection to better complement the excellent beer options on the menu. Overall, Forklift is a gem in Tupelo—highly recommend checking it out!”
“We wen’t with the kids and they were great to us. Our server was awesome and the food was even better. Looking for a unique fine dining experience out that’s still friendly to kids, this is it.”
“Promising American restaurant with a strong Southern influence and nice service, decor, and wine selection. A few menu items need refining, but the overall offering shows great potential. Shrimp cocktail was chilled and meaty with a strong horseradish component in the sauce. Enjoyed the bites. The flavor combinations on the charcuterie board were pleasant with three kinds of meats and cheeses along with the mustard, jam, nuts, and other items. The amount of meat and the presentation made the dish feel a bit sparse. The gumbo is topped with crab and included hearty amounts of shrimp, crawfish, okra, and other goodies. Note that the gumbo is tasty, but non-traditional in terms of not using a lot of roux (the gumbo was closer to the consistency of soup) and the flavor of the gumbo was more acidic than normal. The Cabernet and Pinot Noir offerings were a nice surprise. Enjoyed the selection. Our waitress was quick to swap out the glasses of wine and open new bottles. Recommend storing the wine in a fridge to help extend the life of the open bottles. Our batch of raw oysters was not chilled / fresh. Recommend ordering the oysters grilled or Rockefeller style. The service and ambiance suggest a mid-to-high price point, but for the restaurant to meet that level, consistency in dish quality and presentation (like the charcuterie and oysters) will be key.”
