“What we ordered: • Lychee Daiquiri • Drunken Noodles • Brussel Sprouts • Pork Belly Bánh Mì • Pho • Fried Spring Rolls • Basil Fried Rice • Mango Sticky Rice Doi Moi brings the flavors of Southeast Asian street markets to D.C. with a menu full of vibrant small plates and shareable dishes inspired by Vietnamese cuisine. The restaurant has a beautiful interior along with a great patio space, creating a lively but relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for any occasion. We visited during happy hour, where they offer $5 daiquiris, half-off cocktails, and $8 bites, making it a great deal. The daiquiris were sweet and easy to drink, while the Brussels sprouts and spring rolls were definite table favorites. The bánh mis, however, felt a bit less traditional than expected and weren't quite what we had in mind flavor-wise. From the main menu, the drunken noodles, basil fried rice, and pho were all delicious and comforting, though we found they benefited from adding extra chili sauce for a bit more depth and spice. The mango sticky rice was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Overall, a fun and flavorful dining experience with great ambiance, and definitely a spot we'd recommend checking out. “Honestly, really impressed and impressed for the brunch. I didn’t realise we were gonna have so many flavorful traditional Asian dishes presented in such amazing ways. We had the pandan (green southeast asian plant) waffle four times, the blue or purple lavender jasmine sticky rice with mangoes, a lot of coconut in her coffee in our Thai tea or I mean the condensed milk and we also had a ton of meat we had the chicken skewers with pineapple. We ordered so much and the fried fish was huge !!! This was all for the brunch menu and we’re definitely gonna come back. We ate so much the surface was incredible before smiling you were happy. All the seats really had good views. I’m definitely gonna return with a bunch of my friends and I’m so glad it’s in the Logan circle area so it really accessible to all the fun bars there.”
“Food was great! Drinks were great! Service was great! Ambiance was great! We got the sampler tower and every dish was amazing. The fried rice (ordered separate) was definitely my favorite. I started it with the Lychee daiquiri and then followed with vodka soda. The daiquiri tasted just like juice. Our servers name was Trevor and he was very informative, personable, and attentive! I definitely recommend coming here!”
“We had friends visiting from out of town who are vegan, so we took them to Doi Moi. We had a reservation knowing how popular it gets. We ordered a spread to share - veggie tower, fried wide noodles, turmeric mushrooms, eggplant curry, and tofu bánh mì. The eggplant curry was the group’s favorite. The curry is rich, flavorful, and packed with depth. The tofu bánh mì was also excellent, with great bread and tasty fillings. Everything else was solid as well. Decent vegetarian and vegan options to choose from which is nice. FYI the restaurant gets very loud when busy. We had a bit hard time carrying on conversations. If you’re looking for a quieter dining experience, avoid peak hours. Service was friendly. The interior is fun and energetic. I wouldn’t come here expecting the most authentic Southeast Asian cuisine, it’s a great spot for gathering with friends, sharing plates, and trying out creative food and drinks.”
“We found this place to be decent. However we were surprised how Americanized the food is. We ended up getting the banh mi and pho. The pho was the most disappointing. While the broth had a strong beefy flavor it had very little of the typical flavor from pho spices.”
