“WOW! This weekend’s pop up Asian night was FANTASTIC!! It was evident how much research, preparation, and intentionality went into each dish and sauce! Highlights included complimentary wonton chips with a sweet chili sauce to start, homemade pork dumplings, general tso’s chicken, topped with orange ginger crème brûlée! So grateful they’ll be open every other weekend til April! Excellent treat and evening experience especially in the depths of winter!”

“A really exceptional local spot with delicious and fresh food. I ordered the Basil Kush pizza which did not disappoint! It was cheesy and full of flavor with a touch of prosciutto. It was one of the better pizzas I’ve had. I also sampled the Halibut and it was incredible. Really truly spectacular! Fresh halibut lightly grilled with ginger and full of flavor. I also enjoyed a lovely Pear Martini that was well balanced and truly tasted of pears. All in all, we had a lovely dinner here and it seems like they rotate items on and off the menu while offering daily specials. Compliments to the house and chef!”

“As they say, some of the best surprises come unexpectedly. I took my wife to Fin and Fern on a whim for her birthday dinner. Made a reservation online for 7pm and was promptly seated when we arrived. Fin and Fern has a cozy atmosphere and a pleasant staff, Jodi from upstairs was great. I would suggest that if you are looking to make a reservation, make it before 6:30pm. Two of the dishes I was looking forward to ordering were already sold out before we could order our meal. Took a leap of faith on the warm beet salad thanks to the staffs feedback, it was probably the best beet salad I have ever had. The lobster ravioli was also delicious, I would absolutely order it again. Unfortunately, my experience was diminished when I was served a burnt crème brûlée. My wife’s dinner and dessert came out great, which is all that really matters. Overall a great evening and one not so great dessert. 4.5/5”

“We came here for my son’s 13th birthday dinner and left extremely disappointed. This review comes down to a few major issues: rude and visibly stressed staff, poor table management despite having a reservation, extremely slow service, staff openly speaking negatively about other customers, lack of basic attentiveness like refilling water, and no effort to make things right when we raised a food quality issue. We had a reservation for 4, but were initially seated at two separate tables with a support pole between us, which made it difficult to even talk to each other. Within minutes of being seated, three proper 4-top tables opened up, so we politely asked if we could move before we had even ordered. That request was met with surprising hostility. They did eventually move us, but I then overheard an older woman on staff complaining to coworkers about the fact that we had asked. Given that multiple 4-top tables remained open even after that, the reaction to a very small and reasonable request felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. What made this especially disappointing is that this was my son’s birthday dinner. The atmosphere was so tense and uncomfortable that I honestly felt like I couldn’t even mention it was his birthday or ask them to celebrate him, because by that point we already felt like a burden just for asking to sit together as a family. That alone says a lot about the level of hospitality we experienced. The service was also extremely slow. It took about 25 minutes for someone to take our drink order, another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive, and after being there for an hour we still had no food. During that entire time, our water was never refilled. For a table that had made a reservation and was sitting there that long, basic attentiveness like checking in, refilling water, and managing the pacing of service should not have been an issue. When the food finally arrived, my wife ordered the mushroom ravioli and it simply did not taste good. I mentioned this to our server, and there was no apology, no concern, and no offer to remove it from the bill or otherwise make it right. Mistakes happen and not every dish will land, but the complete lack of service recovery or even a basic acknowledgment was frustrating and added to the feeling that customer experience was not a priority. Another major issue was hearing staff openly talk badly about other customers while we were dining. This happened more than once, and it created a genuinely uncomfortable atmosphere. If staff are comfortable criticizing other diners within earshot of guests, it makes you wonder what is being said about your own table as well. It made the restaurant feel stressful and unwelcoming rather than enjoyable. The frustrating part is that the food looked promising and we came in hoping for a nice family birthday dinner. Instead, the overall experience was defined by rude service, slow service, poor reservation seating, uncomfortable staff behavior, lack of attentiveness, and no effort to address a legitimate complaint about the food. I can be understanding when a restaurant is busy. What is much harder to overlook is poor hospitality, being made to feel like an inconvenience, and watching a special occasion dinner turn into an experience where we spent more time feeling uncomfortable than enjoying the meal. I would not recommend this restaurant for a birthday dinner or any other special occasion if service and atmosphere matter to you.”
