“This is a very nice higher-end restaurant right on Canyon Road in Santa Fe. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was superior. I had the Pork Tomahawk which was the most perfectly cooked, tender, and juiciest pork chop I have ever had. Highly recommended but reservations are needed WELL in advance.”
“Geronimo doesn't really need another five-star review, but our experience tonight was so lovely that I am writing this. The goodness began with Naomi, who helped me fix an error in my reservation and get a table at a good time tonight. The goodness continued with our server Mitzi, who should be teaching graduate classes in hospitality in every big city. She was friendly without being overbearing, informative without being pedantic, subtle and gracious. Now, the food! My wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I had some of each dish: so very flavorful (a green salad with pears, a life-changing mushroom bisque [and I don't like mushrooms!], a chickpea croquette with pickled artichoke hearts and ratatouille, and a substitution of the lemon crepe for three yummy scoops of sorbet and gelato. I chose the scallops, perfectly cooked and moist, over couscous, and a dish of tasty sauteed baby spinach. A wonderful experience, and not overpriced, and everyone treated us sweetly. The musical soundtrack was swinging, and at a compassionate volume. Our first trip to Santa Fe, and we found a gem. Hooray! And thank you, Mitzi!”
“Geronimo was my #1 choice to try in Santa Fe, as it has been ranked on open tables top 100 restaurants in the country for multiple years now, and is considered to be the best restaurant in the state of New Mexico. We were served by our waiter Joseph, who was a great help in guiding us through the menu options, and serving us with an extremely pleasant attitude. First we tried the Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Sashimi and Tartare paired with the Jumbo Lump Crab Dumplings. I give the slight edge to the Tartare for flavor, while presentation goes to the Crab Dumplings. The Ahi was perfectly paired with a light cracker and was so smooth. Our main courses were the Elk Tenderloin and the Pork Tomahawk. While the Pork Tomahawk was fantastic, the Elk Tenderloin was my favorite dinner entree I tried in Santa Fe. Cooked to perfection, and it practically melted in my mouth as I ate it, it was paired perfectly with a brandied mushroom sauce over a bed of mashed potatoes l, which might have been my favorite mashed potatoes I've ever had. For dessert I tried the Brandy Alexander and a complimentary Coffee Icecream, which were the perfect nightcap! “We drove down from Denver to celebrate my partners birthday. Geronimo came highly recommended by friends. For good reason! The service was incredible! Staff was very attentive, the atmosphere was great! I love how the restaurant is divided up, to give one a more intimate dining experience. And the food was superb! We are foodies, and love new dining experiences. I highly recommend dining in this fine establishment!”
“My boyfriend and I specifically chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday because of its reputation, and we were genuinely excited for what we hoped would be a memorable experience. We made reservations in advance and clearly noted that it was for a birthday dinner. When we arrived, we received two half glasses of sparkling wine as welcome drinks, and the waitress wished me a happy birthday, which initially made us feel welcomed. The food itself was good. We ordered the wasabi Caesar salad and foie gras as appetizers, followed by the sea bass and elk entrées, along with three glasses of wine throughout the evening. For dessert, we chose the lemon crepe. However, the overall experience became increasingly disappointing. Despite the restaurant knowing it was my birthday celebration, our dessert arrived without a candle, while we noticed that other tables celebrating birthdays were served desserts with candles and more attentive hospitality. It was hard not to notice the difference in treatment. Service throughout the dinner also felt cold and inattentive. Our waitress never explained what was in each dish. At the end of the meal, we were even given the wrong bill. Although it was about $50 less than what we actually owed, we immediately pointed it out because we did not want to take advantage of the mistake. What made the experience especially upsetting was that, as Asian guests, we genuinely felt we were treated differently from other diners around us. We specifically chose this restaurant for a special birthday celebration, expecting warm hospitality and attentive service that matched the restaurant’s reputation and pricing. Instead, we left feeling overlooked, undervalued, and unwelcome. The one bright spot of the evening was the valet service — the valet staff was professional, kind, and responsive throughout our visit.”
