“Pure excellence. Celebrated an anniversary here, and was thankful the place is family friendly. Every item was incredible. The service was unreal - Devin was just awesome and made the whole experience fun. We were glad to meet Blake, who was so friendly. This was a one-of-a-kind experience, not to be missed. I enjoyed the Jenchilada, and my wife had the lamb skewers and salad. The Gingerbread dessert was the standout of the desserts we tried, and our kids loved the gooey chocolate chunk cookie with ice cream. We’ll definitely be back.”

“Had wanted to stop by for dinner for years and finally got the chance. Our expectations were pretty high and were exceeded! Creative menu with great presentation. I particularly loved the garnish with violets on the deviled eggs. We sat outside and enjoyed the lovely May evening weather. The biggest surprise was how awesome the service was. Our server, Devin, was phenomenal. He was never hovering but always there when we had a request or were ready for another drink. We chose to sample five different apps and he immediately picked a great order for serving them and delivered them at exactly the right time. The bussers and food runners were equally attentive and thoughtful and it's obvious they are trained to work together as a team and support each other. Something tells me nobody is allowed to leave the kitchen with an empty tray if there's food up on the line. Thank you HBG staff for a great evening and a delicious meal!”

“Been meaning to go here for years! So happy we finally made a trip to the area to visit this gem. The thought and care put into this restaurant, combined with the beautiful surroundings, make for an unpretentious and inviting dining experience. Each dish, from the award-winning biscuits to the unforgettable gingerbread dessert, combined interesting flavors and warm spices that felt like a cozy hug with each and every bite! The ingredients were incredibly fresh. You could also feel the love through the well-trained and friendly staff to the mismatched China and silverware on the tables that were probably collected over a lifetime. It was really a special experience. I bought the cookbook and am excited to see if I can recreate that gingerbread masterpiece!”

“Another Amazing unique restaurant nestled in Boulder Utah! After a long day exploring, we decided to try it out! Fresh and local are two words that stand out. Bison sirloin which was cooked medium and was sooo tender! Lemony Cluck was a beautiful juicy chicken breast! The homemade biscuits were on point as well! The mixed vegetables were made to perfection! Price was fair and service was above perfection! Vegan option. They do take allergies serious so discuss. I have an egg allergy and had no issues.”

“Hell’s Backbone was great overall. The appetizers were great, most notably the chicken lollipop which I highly recommend. It was tender and beautifully flavored. However, I do not recommend the Buffalo NY Steak, it was very chewy and not cooked very well. For dessert, my table and I ordered one of everything and shared. I recommend the pumpkin bread pudding because the texture was great and flavored tastefully. The gingerbread was also pretty good, though maybe a bit strong for some people. The other deserts were not notable. The agua Fresca for the drink was pretty good, not wonderful but not bad. The service was nice, our waiter was nice but a bit over the top which is not necessarily a bad thing but a bit too much for me. The food arrived at a fair pace, not slow but not very speedy. The environment was good with nice views of the nearby mountains and the dining area felt very open. Overall, I recommend. (Try the chicken!)”
