“We came early for our reservation and were promptly seated. Food was good as usual, although the calamari was mildly warm instead of hot this time around. What stood out was our fantastic waitress Maya! Quick to take our orders, glasses were never empty, very attentive and professional. We’ll be back.”
“Phenomenal all around… truly. This was our first time dining here as I looked up best steak houses around. I made a reservation & it asked for an occasion if any so I said it was my husband’s birthday.. we get there and they decorated our table with confetti for him! That was so very sweet. All of the hostesses, including all wait staff took the time to wish him a happy birthday. The little things go a long way! Our server was Corbin who I must say was the kindest person & very knowledgeable about the menu, each item & wines. He helped us pick out a bottle of wine & was patient. The service he provided was STELLAR. He checked on us at reasonable times, offered help & made side conversations when needed. The food was absolutely incredible to the point where my husband said “I can’t wait to come back here & we’re not even done yet” The short rib gnocchis beef was tender, melted in my mouth & the gnocchi was cooked to perfection.. my husband got a cowboy cut steak with lobster tail & WOW! Steak was juicy, the lobster tail was HUGE, the potatoes were fresh & the mushrooms were such a good touch. The portions, the way everything was put together & the flavor was amazing! Also, I got a french onion soup to start & it was the BEST soup I’ve had in a very long time. Not oily, not bland.. seriously so well seasoned, cheesy & the bread was not soggy. Love love love. We will be back. Thank you to ALL who worked tonight at J.Gilbert’s & made my husband’s birthday memorable. You are appreciated. This was great!”
“We celebrated our anniversary with dinner here. Everything came out perfectly, and was delicious. Steak was cooked to the requested temperature and seafood was not overcooked. The staff was very professional and multiple team members took the time to stop by our table and wish us a happy anniversary, which was an exceptionally nice touch. We will definitely be back!”
“Everything from the food, service, and experience was a 10/10 for us! We love eating in places that don’t prejudge you based on your race or age! Our waiter treated us so great. He was very attentive to everything, answered any questions we had and also gave us space to enjoy our meal and converse. And the food was exceptional the presentation and flavors were all there. We cannot wait to go back and enjoy another meal, I highly recommend giving them a try!”
“Excellent spot in Glastonbury for a nice steak dinner. Very friendly and attentive staff. They had a salad and steak split between two plates for no extra charge, and they sent us home with a slice of carrot cake for free. The house sourdough bread was delicious . The pastrami butter (flavored with pastrami seasonings) was fascinating and quite good. The wedge salad was very good. The maple glazed bacon was amazing, and the blue cheese dressing had a great flavor - not too funky. The filet mignon was phenomenal. Cooked perfectly, tender, and excellent flavor from the dry aging and wood-fired grill. The au gratin potatoes and creamed corn were both wonderful sides. Carrot cake isn’t usually my thing, but it was tasty. Nice flavor and rich cream cheese frosting.”
