A majestic old pine tree stands in our vineyard: Le Vieux Pin. It speaks to the earth and rain and the clean clear air of the South Okanagan. Here we have created a winery paying homage to the great personalities and wines of France. Our goal is to make wines that capture the essence of French winemaking tradition, but with the fruit and character of the New World. We are dedicated to making wines that are elegant and focused, with great intensity of fruit. The pine tree stands alone.
“Intimate tasting room with fantastic wines! The Syrah will blow your mind! My husband and I enjoyed chatting with Dominique as well as with another couple who were from New Brunswick. Great experience, we will definitely be back for more!!”
“Truly enjoyed our tasting visit. Highly recommend. Sunny weather was perfect to sit outside. Fabulously flavourful flight of whites open for sampling. Left with a variety of our favourites. The ‘Old Pine’ - Le ‘Vieux Pin’ - was cut down and a section of the base of the trunk is featured in the tasting room. People were wonderful. A great vibe here. Will return!”
“I was super excited for this tasting, and it didn’t disappoint. The most informative and complete tasting we experienced during our trip. I ended up signing up for their wine club because of the amazing quality of their product. Think about a passionate wine maker with an excellent sense of excellence. So happy we choose to include this place in our tour.”
“Lovely winery with a French flair. Our hostesse was very nice and informative spending a good amount of time with us threating us to a vast assortment of the winery's selection. The wine was very good with each variety having a very good overall complexity and balance. Luckily we were able to taste a 10 year old vintage confirming the wine only get better once aged. Reservations are required as we saw a few couple unable to even the tasting.”
“Unfortunately, the quality and elegance of this once great winery have noticeably fallen. I genuinely hope to see Le Vieux Pin return to its former greatness, and I’ll revisit in the coming years. For now, however, it is no longer a must‑taste stop in the region. The severe frost that damaged much of the South Okanagan forced many wineries, including this one, to source grapes from Washington State. While understandable, the resulting wines we tasted at this winery lacked the precision, structure, and savoury character that defined Le Vieux Pin at its peak.”
