There is a subtle saline edge that feels entirely appropriate to its coastal origin, while a restrained creaminess rounds the mid-palate without drifting into excess. Acidity is measured and architectural, carrying the wine forward with a composed, almost deliberate clarity. The Pinot Noir from Gap's Crown Vineyard leans more immediately expressive, with lifted red fruit, cranberry and cherry, supported by a fine thread of spice and a gentle floral lift. Its elevated acidity keeps the palate in a state of tension that slightly outpaces its fruit weight, lending the wine a sense of structure that is more insistent than indulgent. The finish is tidy and persistent, leaving a faint impression of earth and dried petals.
