As a small estate vineyard and winery, we are available by Appointment Only for Tastings at our Vineyards and Ranch. We are located in the Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara County, and meticulously farm over 47 acres of world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Any visitor to Pence will come away with an unparalleled tasting experience led by our Estate Sommeliers and very knowledgeable Hospitality Team. A walk around the property will remind you of the timelessness of old California and the sheer beauty of why this region has attracted travelers for centuries. We hope that you will find a Personal Tasting Experience below that accommodates your travel plans. We are confident that it will match or exceed your expectations. We do not allow any dogs on the property due to our resident Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Although people friendly, they are very territorial and have free range on the ranch.

The team is incredible, with Tim in particular who made us feel so welcomed at their property. “Great Boutique Winery Experience! We had a wonderful time at Pence. Phillip gave a great informational tour. I was impressed the steps they take to make their wines clean (no pesticides, herbicides etc). I highly recommend adding on the charcuterie board and grab a bottle of their fabulous olive oil for its health and skin benefits. The views are also stellar.”
“I've been to many winery tours in my life but my time with Philip at Pence Winery is one of my favorites! Philip was so thoughtful and detailed on the tour. He took his time to explain the history of the Winery and how it all came about. He took great care in explaining all the wines that was offered, which I enjoyed immensely. I told him about my year long celebration of turning 50, at the end of my tasting, he surprised me with a birthday candle with a beautiful glass of wine. It literally made my day!
