A small winery in the hills surrounding Florence, producing hand crafted organic wines!
“What a wonderful way to spend a morning enjoying wine, kind staff and beautiful surroundings high above and far away from the frenetic pace of Florence! We booked a tasting on Sunday for the following Monday along with a ride to the vineyard. We arrived earlier than planned at the piazza Mino and the Defender - their rough and tumble off-road vehicle - picked us up early. So glad for the ride as it’s is a good 15 minutes uphill from the center of Fiesole. The setting is beautiful and the wines elegant. The staff person who hosted our visit, Carlotta, was warm and welcoming. After a tour to see the vineyard below and the various barrels where the wine is made we enjoyed the wine with some lovely cheese, bread, prosciutto and olive oil. They brought gluten free crackers so my husband, who has celiac, could enjoy the whole experience. The cost for two with tasting and the ride was € 190 and the wines for sale are 50 (Falangina) and 90 (a lovely San Giovesi blend). They allow you to taste other wines but those are not available for sale, saved instead for select restaurants and small retail sales.”
“The wineyard is located close to Fiesole. It’s a beautiful place, hidden in the middle of nowhere. Quiet and charming. Thank you Lara for the wine tour and allowing us to bring our dogs with us! The wines were fantastic. If you plan to get there by your own car, bear in mind that the final stretch of road is very old, bumpy and narrow.”
“I 1000x recommend Poggio La Noce for a wine tasting and to purchase their wines sight-unseen. That an organic, small production winery can produce such wines with so much character, flavor and boldness is a model for other wineries to follow. The tasting was amazing--great meat, cheese (the best Tuscan pecorino I have tried), and their wines... wow. From their interesting whites to their complex, really unique, and absolutely delicious reds, you must try this winery! Set in the beautiful hills of Fiesole, you can taste the history, and Lara (the wonderful hostess who speaks Italian, English, Portuguese and probably many other languages) and the winemaker: Roberto guide you as you taste their hard work. You definitely should take the trip to Poggio La Noce and taste the difference from the run-of-the-mill, tourist-driven wineries.”
“Beautiful little vineyard in the amazing hills of Tuscany. We called them just one day in advance and they still gave us a tour just for the two of us. The tour was great, enthusiastically brought by Camilla, our gracious hostess. The wines were delicious and served with some lovely local cheese and ham, and their own amazing olive oil with bread. Highly recommended!”
“Excellent small winery specialising in organic wines. Very friendly owners, staff speaks English. Should you be lucky enough to get a chance at a wine tasting here you'll not be disappointed.”
