“What a great spot for lunch! The focaccia sandwiches are amazing and the iced matcha latte is good too. Lovely views if you sit outside on a sunny day.”
“Lovely place to visit. It was very busy being a tourist attraction so book in advance if you want to eat inside. The menu is good and the food is presented well with fresh ingredients and very tasty. Good size portions and good drink selection.”
“We recently visited Cafe Calton with my parents and my best friend for a very important family occasion, and I genuinely cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming, making the entire experience feel so special. A particular thank you to the manager, Ben, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us. The food was absolutely immaculate — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and served in generous portions. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and exceeded our expectations. Combined with the stunning views across Edinburgh and the incredible atmosphere throughout the restaurant, it truly made for an unforgettable experience. We honestly had the most amazing time as a family, and it’s rare to find somewhere that gets every aspect so right. Exceptional food, outstanding service, breathtaking surroundings, and a fantastic atmosphere. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend Cafe Calton to anyone looking for somewhere special.”
“My partner and I went to Cafe Calton for Valentines Day. We had the 3 course Valentines menu and it was wonderful! Between us we tried all 6 dish options, each as fantastic as the last. It was really affordable for three courses on such a big holiday!? The serving sizes were generous and we left feeling full. I liked how there aren’t many tables within the restaurant, making it more intimate and allowing the servers to have a deeper relationship with the customers, which is always appreciated! We were originally seated in the centre of the room, but we asked if we could move to an empty table by the window and our waiter kindly accommodated us. At night the view was amazing, but during the day I bet it’s even better. I’d recommend trying to book for sunset!”
“We had a day off, without our two young kids, so had decided to spend the day in town. Neither of us had yet visited Cafe Calton, so was really excited about trying it out! What a location, the weather was wet and cold, but the arrival and hospitality was warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful seat, with a panoramic view over the city skyline, what a view too, even on a damp day! We visited for brunch and a fantastic selection of breakfast and we actually both eneded up getting the advocado on sourdough with salmon and feta cheese. The coffee was ordered and arrived promptly, as did the breakfast. Beautifully prepared breakfast and such nice coffees. We stayed on for a while and managed to enjoy a second coffee, and just sit and chat, all while enjoying the spectacular views of Edinburgh. A huge thanks to the team and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, we'll be back!”
