“Alexis (Alex) was absolutely amazing, to say the least. Hudson House has been on my “must try” list for a few years, and we finally chose it to celebrate my 35th birthday with a group of 12 friends and family. They accommodated us perfectly, the table was spacious and comfortable for everyone. The ambiance was a 10/10, and the food matched it in every way. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Huge shoutout to Alexis and the manager on duty (4/11) for going above and beyond. My wife has a shrimp allergy, and both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams took it very seriously. They came out to explain the precautions they would take and ensured her meal was completely safe. Thanks to their care, she was even able to enjoy the chicken parmesan, which normally would’ve been off-limits due to shared cooking oil with shrimp. We’ll definitely be back, making this a regular spot for lunches with clients and family. Highly recommend!”
“An evening at Hudson House proved far more civilized than most dining experiences forced upon the modern public. The shrimp cocktail arrived properly cold with a horseradish cocktail sauce strong enough to clear the head and restore a man’s senses. The truffle and parmesan fries were excessive in the best possible way, crisp and fragrant and disappearing far too quickly. A margarita accompanied the proceedings and was refreshing enough to justify the indulgence. The true centerpiece was the chicken parmesan with pasta. A large and reassuring plate buried under sauce and melted cheese, exactly the sort of meal that reminds one that good cooking still survives in pockets of this declining age. 11/10. A rare triumph.”
“Checked out the new Hudson House in West Village and it was truly incredible! We had reservations, but apparently made them for the wrong location, but they were very accommodating and got us in. The vibe was very energetic, but not overly fancy, and the staff was super attentive and friendly. We went during happy hour, so it was a bit loud, but was glad to see a business in this area thriving. We had the spicy tuna roll, steak frites and the French chicken for our entrées.. both came with skinny fries and arugula salad. Probably the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. We will definitely be back and love the convenient location. We live right across the street!”
“Honestly a pretty disappointing experience. Came for a birthday celebration and even though we had a reservation we were still made to wait 20+ minutes for a table. The food was overall not good. Chips were stale, avocado dip was bland/old, Salmon was not fresh. The only good thing about the meal was the steak but not by a huge margin. Compared to other Hudson House locations this was a bit of a letdown”
