“Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented! Everything tasted amazing, especially the pho and bánh mì. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were authentic, and the portions were generous. A special thanks to Dream for the excellent service—she was friendly, attentive, and made our dining experience even better. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”
“Nikki and Sophia were amazing. This may be my favorite restaurant in all of NYC. I’m gluten free (allergy) and they had of course so many GF menu items! I had the pho, and the pomelo salad and my goodness. The flavor! If you like spice, ask for a little chili sauce with your pho- blown away. I’ll be back. And did I mention it’s gorgeous in here!”
“I took my niece here for lunch, and it was our first visit to this restaurant. Ambiance & Decor: We absolutely loved the decor. The space is small, but that's to be expected in NYC. The design felt like a beautiful blend of French colonial and Southern Vietnamese influences—warm, elegant, and very tasteful. The restaurant was packed for lunch, so I was glad I made a reservation for our party of five. We arrived at 11:55 a.m. for our noon reservation and were seated immediately with no wait, while several other groups were already waiting for tables. Service: The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and delivered with genuine smiles throughout our meal. Food: I can't say enough good things about the food. My sister and I had already eaten breakfast at 8 a.m. and dim sum at 10 a.m., yet we still couldn't stop enjoying every bite of lunch here. We ordered two servings of the Crab Fried Rice, Bánh Xèo, Bún Riêu, and Bún Chả. Everything was excellent. In fact, the food looked so delicious when it arrived that I completely forgot to take photos and only managed to snap pictures of the Bún Riêu and the second order of Crab Fried Rice. The Bún Chả was especially outstanding—authentic, flavorful, and perfectly executed. I highly recommend ordering it. Everyone in our party loved the experience, and we all agreed that we'll definitely be back. What a fantastic find in NYC! To the manager and team at La Dong: thank you for creating such a wonderful restaurant and dining experience. We can't wait to return.”
“I’ve been here twice by now: The bún riêu was probably the best I’ve had in this city. I loved how flavorful the broth was, and it reminded me of my mom’s home cooking. Thank you for the hospitality as well! And i love ordering the big veggie bowl on the side. Lol fresh herbs yum Banh Xeo and other dishes also very delicious as well! 🌹”
“I walked in without a reservation, but I was quickly seated at the bar. I first ordered the mussels, and personally I found them a bit too salty for my taste. The waitress noticed and kindly didn’t charge me for the dish, which I really appreciated. It may just come down to personal preference, but their service and care for customers definitely stood out. Next, I tried the pomelo and shrimp salad. The dish tasted very fresh and included pomelo, grapes, shrimp, fried shallots, lemongrass, and other ingredients. The sweetness from the pomelo and grapes made the salad lean more toward the sweet side, so I think a little more acidity, such as lime juice, would help balance the flavors better. Still, it was refreshing and a nice starter overall. Lastly, I ordered the bún bò Huế. After the salty mussels, my expectations for this dish were honestly not very high, but it completely surprised me. The broth was balanced, flavorful, and comforting. It ended up being the star of everything I tried that lunch The employees were very friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was crowded. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and would come back again for the bún bò Huế.”
