Little Ruby's - Dallas

“Little Ruby’s is a warm modern and upbeat brunch Café nestled in the heart of the uptown restaurant district. From start to end - your experience exceeds expectations. The food is fresh and bright, full of flavor and made of high quality ingredients. The fare is trendy, but not overly so. I had a “Malibu bowl” with smoked salmon and requested a side of sliced serranos (lowkey hack), and it felt like the perfect portion size, flavor, and nutrition for someone who is health conscious. The fruit bowl was juicy, sweet, and tart, with no filler fruits. I also had their spicy vodka pasta with crispy chicken, and if you are a pasta lover and a fan of poignant flavors and textures, this is the one to go for. The chicken is crispy in the best way, not overly oily, and has a light bite. The spicy vodka pasta cream is made with marscapone, so it balances the spices with a sweet milkiness perfectly. Of note: it’s probably a 2/10 heat level. Outside of the actual food, the waitstaff, servers, and hosts are affable and professional. There seemed to be a really good server to top ratio, timely and affable service, and great attention to detail in terms of the decoration, so it was clear that the management and logistics/ops is on point and will ensure a quality experience. Overall, if you are looking for a new brunch spot in uptown, you cannot go wrong with this.”

“Great experience every time I come here. The food and drinks are consistently excellent, the service is attentive, and the atmosphere is great. I’ve been multiple times and will definitely be back. We recently hosted a group event at Little Ruby’s and really appreciated the hospitality and thoughtful touches from the team.”

“Came here for brunch and my first thought was that this place was just so cute. It's smaller in person, but very cozy. I loved the moody pink decor. I ordered a vanilla latte to drink and it was so good, I ordered one to go. For my meal I had their Breakfast Burrito with avocado and a side of fries. The burrito was delicious and so flavorful, and the fries with the aioli were amazing. Service was phenomenal and our waiter took great care of us during our visit, even after the lunch rush came in. Loved the aesthetic of this place, even their to go bags are cute. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items.”

“Grabbed brunch here after a friend highly recommended the banana bread with passion fruit butter and this really was a great starter. The bread was warm and soft and the butter had a tartness that provided a perfect balance; it only comes with one slice but it was big enough to share. The green eggs bowl was light and refreshing and ingredients seemed really fresh. What was really off putting was the service (especially given how many people highlight this as a positive in their reviews). Our waitress gave off the aura that we were truly bothering her whenever she came by to do anything. When the entrees arrived I wanted some salt and pepper and we couldn’t find our server for several minutes, so tried to lightly signal one walking by who basically said we’re not his section and walked away?? Our server was nearby so he gestured at her, but it was crazy to me that he didn’t even come over. That’s never happened to me at another restaurant before where servers always come by to see what you’re asking and say they can grab your server after or they’ll just help out. Would come back to try dinner and hope for friendlier service. Maybe an off day.”

“I've been to the New York location, and I actually think I prefer the Dallas restaurant. It's spacious yet still feels intimate, with a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The patio is especially nice, with plenty of seating. One thing to note: they don't serve food between 4 and 5 p.m. while transitioning to dinner service, and that wasn't mentioned anywhere. We arrived starving, but Andrea at the bar took great care of us while we waited. I was craving a hot drink, and although there weren't any on the menu, she whipped up an Irish coffee-style cocktail that was delicious. Later I asked for something "cute," and once again she delivered. At 5 p.m. we were seated, and Michael took over from there. We were in no rush, and he let us enjoy the evening at our own pace as we worked our way through appetizers and drinks. Everything we tried was excellent. The calamari was crispy and fresh, the shrimp toast was buttery with just the right amount of crunch, and the fries were a winner. The standout, though, was the ribs. They came with a grilled mandarin orange to squeeze over the meat, adding a bright flavor to ribs that were incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. Great food, even better hospitality, and a comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to linger. I'm glad to see Little Ruby's in the neighborhood and can definitely see myself becoming a regular.”
