Leading Nantucket’s thriving restaurant scene, The Nautilus (est. 2014) is an island staple built on the idea of a shared social experience. Founders Liam Mackey (food), Clinton Terry (drink) & Stephen Bowler’s (wine & business) island-mentality of being “serious about what we do, but not taking ourselves too seriously” perfectly sums up The Nautilus experience. The highly regarded culinary program is a sort of ‘New England coastal cuisine meets Asian & global haute street food’ vibe featuring small plates served tapas style, combined w/ larger group feasts (think Peking inspired duck). The culinary inspired cocktails draw on both seasonal & regional inspirations while the wine & sake list is recognized as a “Best Of” by Wine Spectator. Fueled by curated, energetic music, the stimulating yet neighborly atmosphere makes the new & unfamiliar feel comfortable & intimate, a philosophy that seamlessly ties the food, cocktails, wine & ambiance together to cr
“Of all the restaurants we tried on the island, this was one of our favorites. We did have reservation so we sat quickly. Our service was impeccable! Our server was quick but didn’t rush us. We ordered light but everything we got was so fresh and delicious. We saw a few people order the duck and will definitely be back to try that next time!”
“Outstanding. Come here for the duck, it’s incredible and super unique. And for $165, it’s very well priced for the amount of food you’re getting. It’s pretty small and dark in here but it’s got a good vibe and a lively crowd. Service here is great - I asked about trying a few aoilis and the kitchen staff sent out a sampler platter with fries for dipping. Truly an above and beyond experience. If you want a res - be diligent and set an alarm. They drop right at 10am 7 days in advance.”
“Omg !!!! That food ... and that drinks ... speeches... just incredibly delicious. Quick update: The summer 2023 menu is even better!!! The prawns are one of the tastiest things that i ever eat in my life. The place is really small and really crowded. It is really difficult to make a reservation, but believe me, there is a reason why the food is just unbelievably amazing. If you are lucky enough to get a table, believe me worth the waiting and every penny that you will spend there. Menu is big for the size of the place, many Asian cuisine choices (no sushi), and many vegetarian and meat options. Drinks are great ! The food arrived when it was ready so be prepared that there is no first or second . Staff will inform you about this before you order. Prices are normal for the Nantucket lifestyle. I'm highly recommending that place!”
“Ordered the Crab Fried Rice and Pork Bao buns. Food was okay but nothing outstanding or memorable. Our waitress was attentive and kind. Elin H. was seated next to us which made the experience noteworthy.”
“Expected more, left disappointed. As a foodie, would have liked any sort of intro to the menu and recommendations. Ate at a chefs counter which is not truly a chefs counter as you can’t interact with the chefs throw the high wall partition between you and the chefs. If you’re deciding between this and Or the Whale, I recommend the latter. Better service, ambience and food all around.”
