Rombauer Vineyards is a longtime family-owned winery in St. Helena offering by-appointment tastings and tours across multi-level hillside grounds. Guests enjoy self-paced flights, a garden picnic area, and panoramic valley views. Note that food or cheese pairings are not offered on-site.
“We had a lovely time when we stopped by this vineyard in Napa valley. We hadn’t reserved but that wasn’t an issue. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and Zinfandel, both of them were excellent for the price. We had gotten our own eats and sat outside in the sun, enjoying the food and drink and taking in the sweeping vistas. There are short walking paths where one can explore, carrying one’s drinks. The staff were very friendly and pleasant and would certainly recommend this vineyard compared to many others in the area that insisted on reservations and a minimum spend on drinks per person.”
“We had a very pleasant tasting. The wines were good - both white and red. The setting and views were great. The gardens were lovely. Very reasonable tasting fee waived with 3 bottle purchase. Bottles were within our budget.”
“Great setting for a wine tasting on top of a hill. Many different sitting areas. We did the self paced tastings where you can choose 5 wines. Their carneros Chardonnay was our favorite. Very relaxed atmosphere”

“This vineyard is located on a hillside, and it offers stunning picturesque views. The grounds has multi level designated areas for visitors. As we’ve enjoyed visiting other wineries, this winery unlike most, does not offer any food or cheese pairing for visitors to enjoy with their wine tasting experience. The area where they educate their guests about their wine was very small and crowded, so we only could sample some without getting the true story behind each wine or the history of the winery.”
