“What better way to kick off a wine trip, and a Sunday Funday, than with a visit to Soter. The tour and tasting struck a perfect balance: educational yet approachable, with a relaxed, welcoming feel throughout the property. The conversation flowed just as nicely as the wine, making it easy to settle in and really enjoy the experience. A great introduction to their style and philosophy. Looking forward to enjoying more “Soter Pop” in the future. Cheers to a fantastic start to the trip!”
“The Provisions Tasting here is an absolute must-do in the Willamette Valley. If you love Pinot Noir, you’ll be in heaven! Each pour was stunning. Even the Chardonnay and Rosé were standouts; there wasn’t a single miss. The wine alone is fantastic, but when paired with the chef’s seasonal dishes, it becomes an unforgettable, elevated experience. The hospitality was top-notch - who doesn’t love being greeted with a glass of wine? Elise was an incredible guide/host, making us feel right at home, and Head Chef Clayton even stopped by to say hello. Add in the breathtaking vineyard views and you’ve got the perfect combination. If you do one thing in the Willamette Valley, make it this!”
“Soter was our middle stop of the day after lunch during a full day of tasting, with our other visits being Domaine Drouhin and Domaine Serene. Soter ended up being our favorite stop, largely due to its stunning property and beautiful views. The laid-back tasting felt far less robotic, and the outdoor setting was much more organic than the cold, French villa-style tasting rooms at the other wineries. If we return to the Willamette Valley, we would definitely look to book the pairing lunch. In our case, we did a standard tasting, and while all the wines were good, the relaxed pace and engaging interaction made it more memorable. It’s a spot we would definitely visit again.”
“One of our favorite visits in Willamette Valley (out of 9 wineries we visited) -- and this is also coming from someone who's lived near Napa and traveled to wineries all over the world. Jeff was a fantastic and knowledgeable host and made us feel welcome, the property is so cozy and beautiful, and the food & wine pairing we did was top-notch! The variety of wine options here is stellar: we ended up signing up for the club and ordering the sparkling, Pinot, and a really cool magnum from the library collection from 2011! The sourcing for the food is so cool too: from their local farm, as well as specified purveyors as local as possible.”
“This was our first vineyard stop for our trip to Willamette Valley. We booked this vineyard after finding it in our research and learning they offered more than just tastings. They have a provisions lunch that we couldn’t pass up. The lunch was excellent from start to finish. We walked up for our prepaid reservation and were greeted with a glass of rosé and immediately connected with our host for the day, Alice. Alice was a stunning host for us. I loved hearing her tell about each dish and wine we tried. Our view from our table was stunning even through the rainy day we booked. It was a bit chilly that day, but the fire in the hearth and the delicious food and wine to warm us. The chef also came out to meet each table which was a nice touch. Highly recommend this experience.”
