“Absolutely "once in a lifetime" experience. Accommodation was perfect, staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food was out of this world.”
“Mind-blowing. We could hardly believe the reviews, but it’s even more impressive than they describe. An incredible experience, both in terms of scenery and culinary excellence. It’s honestly hard to put into words how special it is to be here. And all of it is made even better by the fantastic team, led by Jack. Without a doubt the absolute highlight of our trip through New Zealand.”
“If I could give more than five stars to The Chef’s Table, I absolutely would. From the moment we arrived, everything was next level. The setting is honestly breathtaking the views alone are worth the trip but then the food comes out and somehow steals the show. Every dish was beautiful, unique, and bursting with flavour. You can tell so much thought, creativity and care goes into every plate. It wasn’t just dinner… it was an experience. The accommodation was just as impressive immaculate, comfortable, and perfectly styled. Every detail felt intentional and high-end without losing that warm, welcoming feel. A huge shoutout to Jack, Ben, Clover and the rest of the team the service was incredible. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. And the 4WD tour to the top was such a highlight. Mike and Mel were absolute legends, passionate, genuine good buggers who clearly love what they do. They made the whole experience even more special. Hands down one of the most beautiful, unique dining and accommodation experiences we’ve had. We’ll be talking about it for a long time and we’ll definitely be back.”
“We had a wonderfully unique and intimate dining and cultural experience here. Accessible only by ATV, we had a short tour of the land before arriving at the top of the world. A luxuriously yet rustic dining room to fit only 10 patrons. We had an 11 course menu with matching wines. Every dish was delicately assembled and beautifully presented. Each mouthful was bursting with rich and fresh flavours using mostly local produce. The matching wines were perfect. Service was friendly and faultless. We stayed at the lodges overnight which were stunning and tasteful. We woke up to breathtaking views and a full breakfast. Just exquisite really. Highly recommended for a special occasion.”
“The Micheline Guide used to define two stars as a restaurant worthy of making a detour when travelling. If that still holds they deserve at least one as we made a 4 hour detour to eat at this amazing hilltop near private dining experience (10-12 guests max per night). The food was excellent and Jack managed to show the local fare at its best. One of the highlights was a local fern which had an amazing texture. I was also impressed by the wine pairing which again and again managed to enhance not only support the dishes. It was also great that they offered half pours for the wine tasting - which allowed me to stay sober enough to write this review… All in all worth the detour…”
