Tidepools - Grand Hyatt Kauai

“Unique and beautiful setting. Our ahi poke + chips appetizer was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my tagliatelle. Tai chi drinks were strong. One warning with sitting near the koi fish is that they sporadically may thrash about splashing water near or on you, potentially on the food. After dinner, walking around the beautiful property during sunset hit the spot.”

“Wonderful ambiance and food. Love the purple ube/sweet potato touches and the crab cakes. We decided to come down to the restaurant from the hotel a little late at 7:45pm. By this time the restaurant was half empty and it was dark outside. While waiting for the food our server got us these hot steaming garlic ube bread which was amazingly good. We sat next to the koi pond and got occasionally splashed by the fish, bringing some unexpected funny moments. The cocktails were on point (great recommendations by our server) and Macadamia nut crusted island fish and Hawaiian catch were satisfying. When we were leaving, our server insisted on sending us another box of those delicious garlic ube bread. We were hesitant at first because we were stuffed but we’re so glad he did because we snacked on them all night and the next morning. They are the best tasting bread I’ve had in a while. All in all a great experience at the Hyatt resort.”

“Beautiful setting and not crowded. We had no problem getting a reservation on Sunday. Food and service is great. Atmosphere is phenomenal. Free parking in the hotel lot. Then long walk through hotel to the lower level. You can’t see the ocean, even it’s next to it.”

“Tidepools is a fantastic restaurant! Great vibes with the surrounding koi fish pond and you can see the ocean & hear the waves crash while you dine. A table closer to the sunset time is ideal to catch this place before the dark to take in the ambience. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food for a place of such view at the resort-Grand Hyatt. The best seafood I’ve had an island hands down. Tried the dynamite crab cakes and the coconut scallops both cooked to perfection! The Hawaiian catch was really fresh and delicious! The lobster tail was better than ones from New England and CA area I’ve had in the past! Top notch dining experience. A bonus is the warm buttered toro roll served to every table-so freshly baked! Tidepools was part of our Kauai highlight.”

“Service and setting were incredible - restaurant atmosphere surrounded by the pools with a nice Ocean breeze was nice. Our food was mixed - the rolls and appetizers were good, the Opa and Mahi Mahi were hits The Hawaiian Catch was simply a lobster tail and swordfish - neither had much flavor. The Tageliitela wasn't anything special either with the sauce lacking flavor and the shrimp not seasoned. Two of our group would go back but the other two would not. Too nice of a setting with higher prices to miss with the food.”
