“What an absolute diamond in the rough. We showed up without a reservation, which I do NOT recommend. We were fortunate enough that they were not only able to accommodate us, but have enough time to give us a wonderful and personal experience. Britt was a true delight! David was also there and added some lovely value to the experience. A very small, and modern space with wonderful wines. The prices start around $85 and are worth every penny. Chardonnay drinkers beware!!! Their Chardonnay will ruin all other Chardonnay for you. The Pinot’s were delicious, but my goodness - the Chardonnay is next level. They are also dog friendly on the patio which simply fills my heart. I will go here every time I return to Oregon. Thank you Britt and David, gracious, knowledgeable, and friendly hosts.”
“I was so pleasantly surprised by our time at Woodshed. Bluntly, I had scanned ahead, seen the prices per bottle of the wine, and falsely concluded that this place was more committed to making money than wine. HOW WRONG I WAS! The strongest commitment here is to make a wine that most accurately conveys the spirit and presence of this place on earth, to capture in a glass the essence of the land there. In short, the wine was beautiful...AND somehow managed to be different than other Oregon Pinots and Chards. The actual building was like some wild and simple Danish country chapel set up in praise to God but leaving an open door for Bacchus who might want to use the space while Jesus tarries to rescue us from the modern monsters that hump and bump and make noises worse than hell's own trump. Small, soaring ceiling yet inviting and memorable. Not "homey" but extremely welcoming, as if it were a door to what homey is. The staff were amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly, able to riff at the level of knowledge and experience each guest might be operating on. I did not plan on any purchases...but that resolve lasted about 3 sips (hear Mr. Owl counting One, Two, Three...) I'm a new fan of these wines and this place, and God willing I will over time become a friend as well. My highest recommendation. You will not regret it.”
“Cozy space, especially in rainy January! Will be excited to re-visit this summer. Wines were amazing, the sparkling and small bites from cowbell! Brit was incredible, great hospitality, and stories. Meeting the owner/winemaker, Anthony, was a nice bonus! 2021 Pinot and Chard and the 2015? I think bubbles were amazing! 🥂”
