Woodside - St Simons Island, GA

“Woodside was an absolute delight. It was nice to see some good creative dishes in a quite unassuming location. You don't normally expect caviar and Dom Perignon a few steps from a Talbot's and Harris Teeter but it kind of works 😂🔥. We ordered the bread plate along with the sweet peaches and morel cavatelli to start. The bread was fluffy & flaky, so good (it did come in a weird metal bowl, the presentation was odd). Both starters were delightful, the peaches had a fantastic combination of flavors & textures. The cavatelli had a lovely warmth, the pasta had a good chewy bite, perfectly cooked. The cavatelli could've used some micro greens and a tad of acidity to visually brighten up the dish, the mushroom sauce can often have an unappetizing color, but the taste and texture were on point. We both got steaks for our mains and they were both a delight, perfectly cooked. We finished with the pavlova and a chocolate dessert (forgetting exactly what it was) but both were lovely. We will definitely be back, what a wonderful spot! Last note -- the patio could use some more privacy from the road and shops. It does get quite muggy in the evening and the bugs don't help, closing the patio up a bit could be a nice change.”

“Everything about Woodside was top-notch. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away, which set the tone for the whole night. We ended up sitting at the bar, and the bartender (I’m sorry—I forgot his name!) was fantastic. Great personality, super easy to talk to, and his drinks were spot on. The food was just as impressive. The wagyu filet and veal chop were both incredible, and the leek butter oysters were easily the best oysters I’ve ever had—no question. Everything felt really well done and worth it. We actually had such a great experience that we canceled our dinner reservations for the next night just to come back. Kenneth was our server the second time, and he absolutely knocked it out of the park—super attentive and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. Woodside is 100% worth it for both the food and the overall experience. Huge thank you to the team for making our anniversary dinners so special, especially during a vacation that didn’t exactly go as planned.”

“I don’t often give anything a five star review. We ate Sunday brunch there and everything was fantastic. They are open from 10 to 2 on Sundays. We will be regulars.”

“We went right when they opened at 5 pm with no reservation. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Justin, was absolutely amazing! We ordered the blueberry sour and the woodford mule and both were great, extremely flavorful. We also ordered the bread service, which is a MUST. Fresh, hot brioche rolls with soft butter. We got the chocolate creme caramel for dessert which was great, definitely recommend if you like tiramisu. The staff was great and the ambience is even better, it’s a more upscale vibe than most places on the island. We will definitely be back to try the brunch!”

“Upon recommendations from a few people, we booked a reservation at Woodside. We arrived early, yet we were still seated by the friendly Host. We waited a little longer than usual to place our drink orders, but once the Bartender, (I believe his name is Justin), greeted us, it was smooth sailing. We had the bread service, which was fabulous and an oyster appetizer. Both were wonderful. For our entrees, we had the Porcetta and the Cappellacci. The Cappellacci dish was light and delicious and the Porchetta was a very substantial meal, with great flavor that brought me back to my Italian roots. Both dishes were bursting with flavor. The cocktails were fantastic and the bartender even turned my gin-hating husband into believing gin isn’t so bad after all, thanks to the Vespa cocktail. Dessert was great. The Crème Caramel with fennel shortbread cookie was an unusual combination of fennel, espresso, chocolate and caramel that worked so beautifully. Before we left, Justin told us about the Sunday brunch and we made a reservation to return next week. We look forward to trying their Supper Club dinners as well as booking a reservation at the Chef’s Table.”
