YAKUN curates a spectrum of flavors with raw and charred textures using farm fresh ingredients and rare delicacies imported from Japan. The stunning 8-seat yakitori omakase engages all five senses, serving 20 courses from a constantly evolving menu, all served on handmade Japanese ceramics. We offer two dinner services daily: Early 5:15 - 7:30pm & Late 8 - 11pm.
“I visited Yakun after reading the Korea Daily feature, and honestly, it felt less like a typical dinner and more like a carefully crafted experience. Yes, it is definitely not a cheap omakase spot — but after the meal, I completely understood why. From the moment the first skewer came off the binchotan charcoal grill, you could taste the level of detail, technique, and intention behind every course. Nothing felt rushed or overly flashy. Everything was refined, balanced, and thoughtfully paced. What impressed me most was that Yakun doesn’t try too hard to be trendy. The atmosphere is calm, intimate, and confident in its identity. You can really feel the chef’s philosophy throughout the entire course. If you are looking for a casual quick bite, this may not be the place. But if you appreciate craftsmanship, premium ingredients, and the kind of dining experience that stays in your memory afterward, Yakun is absolutely worth trying at least once. Definitely one of the most memorable omakase experiences I’ve had in LA.”
“We had a fantastic, intimate dining experience for only 8ppl. $280pp was steep but I think it was worth it for a special occasion. Chairs were a little too deep and wide, but they offered a pillow for my back. They also offered a purse stand, that was a nice touch. All the courses were excellent, we couldn't finish all the yakitori bc we were so stuffed. They did offer little to-go boxes for us to take home. I would definitely come back.”
“Yakun is an amazing fine dining and Yakitori omakase experience with incredible attention to detail. Everything from the food, cocktails, and decor was carefully chosen and perfectly prepared. Since Yakun only opened a couple weeks ago, we didn't know what to expect given the small number of reviews, but we were very glad we chose to visit. The food was fantastic and extremely fresh. They had a strong emphasis for same-day freshness. The skewers were grilled perfectly, and there was a lot of variety (all the way from beef tongue to chicken gizzards and livers too). Appetizers were very delicious and beautifully plated. The crab in particular blew my mind with how fresh and balanced it was. The cocktails were beautiful and masterfully mixed. I highly recommend the Japanese Old Fashioned as it's easily the best I’ve ever had. Yakun has a hard liquor license which allows them to import rare Japanese whisky. We'll definitely visit again.”
“Amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was warm, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant — perfect for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. Everything exceeded expectations, and I’ll definitely be coming back. The crab they offered tonight was impressive, we got lucky to have that because everyday’s course could be different. Highly recommend!”
“Dinner and a show! Yakun made our holiday trip truly special and memorable. To be honest, we weren't sure what to expect when we booked, but we were blown away. A huge thank you to Kevin, Jerome, and their incredible team. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the impeccable service, and the vibrant atmosphere. The cocktails were excellent, though we’d love to see sake/wine pairings and more beer options added after the soft opening. Having those pairings to balance the rich textures and flavors would really take the "performance" to the next level. We will definitely be back next time we’re in LA!”
