“This place is a neighborhood gem. Very high quality and delicious sushi and excellent friendly service. My family came in for a quick dinner, and decided to try out this place for the first time. We usually go to Sawtelle. We will definitely come back.”
“We had the most authentic and delicious meal at Asuka. The owner greeted us at the door and checked on us throughout the meal, sharing the history of the restaurant. The pride in the food and experience was what made this place so special. We opted for the omakase/kaiseki and every single dish was high quality. The sashimi was beyond fresh, the monkfish liver pate was incredible, and the lychee sorbet was a perfect way to end a perfect meal. 5 stars 🙏🏻”
“A serious restaurant for serious restaurant lovers. Michelin-star chef. A welcoming maître D' (wearing a suit and tie, nice!). Yet a casual and friendly environment. Innovative (have you ever had edamame tofu? You should.). Professional service (too rare in LA). Exceptional fish (isn't that why we're here?). The balsamic-caper reduction on the perfectly-cooked salmon was other-worldly. The Japanese eggplant with sweet red miso is perfectly balanced. Not possible to have only one spicy tuna handroll. You're worried that the sashimi is too thin? Get over yourself...if you want giant portions, go to McDonald's. If you want quality Japanese food and an exceptional dining experience, come here. Thank you, Vincent.”
“Asuka delivers a refined omakase-style experience with beautiful presentation and high-quality fish. The sashimi course was especially fresh and thoughtfully plated, and several small bites throughout the meal were genuinely memorable. The atmosphere feels intimate and upscale without being overly formal, making it a great spot for a date night or special dinner in Westwood. E xecution was strong overall. Service was polished and attentive, though pacing occasionally felt a bit uneven during the meal. Overall, a very enjoyable experience with excellent ingredients, elegant presentation, and a sophisticated vibe. Worth visiting if you appreciate creative Japanese tasting menus. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“I came here last year for a business dinner and we had 5 course omakase. I was pleasantly surprised how fresh the fish was. It's a traditional Japanese approach, the food is really delicious. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area.”
