Located in the heart of SoMa at 9th and Folsom just a few blocks from the Civic Center BART, Azúcar Lounge is ready to guide you on the best Mezcal experience San Francisco has to offer. Azúcar Lounge features a full bar with a seasonal cocktail menu and a Mexican street kitchen inspired food menu. Our offerings include our twist on traditional Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, and churros. If you have a hankering for something else, our varied menu includes many delicious snacks. We have been open for over 13 years but we aren't your regular, run of the mill local neighborhood San Francisco bar. The founder of Azúcar Lounge has such a strong passion for Agave spirits that he built another bar within Azúcar called El Palenque. If you are agave curious or are seeking to try a diverse range of agave distillates, please come see us! Tequila? Check. Pulque? Check. One of a kind Mezcals? Double check! “Only rating food here because I haven't been inside yet. A friend got me carnitas tacos. Absolutely delicious! Meat was cooked perfectly and the salsa, THE SALSA! I could drink that like gazpacho.... it was spicy but not too hot, and the flavors just kept on coming as I ate it.... like good wine or whiskey It was a perfect balance of ingredients. I'm looking forward to dinning in soon as I'm told it has great atmosphere and good service. .”

“If I can get this place 100 Stars I would. The food was absolutely out of this world. I think this is my favorite place to eat in San Francisco right now. I had the Carnitas quesadilla and that's the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life create everything goes on point I wish I had time to drink at the bar because the bartender really looked professional and really knew how to make drinks and enjoyed their job. The atmosphere was perfect couldn't have asked for a better place to eat very affordable I spent 20 bucks and had a good meal it's a must try!!”

“Honestly. i have no clue how this has 4 stars, maybe because im from out of town but the food was 5/10… Queso tasted like canned cheese with jalapenos.. it was very lumpy (im an executive chef) not smooth at all-chips were stale and not fresh some didn’t even have a crunch to it,the drinks were not balanced - seems like it was one person doing everything, and it shows-then he tried to play in our face and bring a tab that was $280 compared to our $180 tab and hesitated to show us our itemized check. ANYWHO I DONT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISAPPOINTED other than all the horrible things the music was decent”
