“We had a fantastic tasting experience at Carhartt Family Wines. We sat outside in the covered patio which is a beautiful setting. We chose the 5-wine tasting and were hosted by Troy who was lovely, friendly and gave us a great overview of each wine. We loved all of the wines, but our favourite was the 100% Chardonnay which was delicious. We don’t usually like Chardonnay so were pleasantly surprised. Thank you for a lovely afternoon!”

“CFW tasting room is truly one of my favorite places, with the best wine! The wine is consistently delicious, including old favorites and a regular rotation of fresh, creative wines to taste. The tasting room itself is absolutely adorable, with such a welcoming atmosphere, and they have the best merchandise too. I have a hard time leaving without buying something new! What I love most is how it feels like a true community every time we visit. It’s such a fun, warm, and inviting spot where everyone feels welcome. My husband and I even hosted our wedding welcome drinks there, and it was the perfect place to gather our loved ones and introduce our out-of-town family to our sweet little wine country town. The staff is incredible—always friendly, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely kind. They make every visit special. I can’t recommend this place enough!”

“If you’re anywhere near the Santa Ynez Valley — especially in Los Olivos — do yourself a favor and stop into Carhartt Family Wines! This place has everything you'd hope for in a wine tasting experience: cozy, welcoming atmosphere and everyone is genuinely cheerful from the moment you walk in. Owner-operated by Mike and Brooke, alongside their son, Chase — they truly are the heart and soul of the winery. The entire staff are warm, attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, and so friendly it feels like you’re visiting old friends rather than a tasting room. Even better, they stay open later than many spots in town, making it the perfect place to linger, unwind, and savor the experience just a little longer. Every detail is meticulous, from the beautiful atmosphere in their back patio to the way they guide you through each pour. They take the time to explain the wines without ever making you feel rushed, and their passion shows in every conversation. An experience defined by outstanding service, lovely wines, and a warm, easygoing vibe. And as an added bonus, they’re wonderfully dog-friendly — making it even more welcoming for everyone. Overall, it’s hands-down the best place in Los Olivos. It’s definitely my go-to whenever I’m in town, and I genuinely look forward to visiting a few times a year. “If you want the real local Santa Ynez Valley vibe, Carhartt Family Wines is 100% it. Family-run in the best way, super friendly, casual, and genuinely welcoming, with that “everyone knows everyone” energy that makes you wanna hang for a bit. Never stuffy, always a good time, lots of locals. Wines are excellent, and I love that they’re also doing natural-leaning stuff w/ no additives — check out some of their Venture label wines. My favorites are the Mission and Buffalo. The Mission is esp cool… rare varietal you don’t see many places and has roots going back to the CA missions. Def worth a stop if you’re in the SY Valley. Also see if they are serving their “piquette” on tap, it’s a low alc sparkling drink that I order every time, it's the best on a hot day.”
