Established in 2008 on 25 acres just outside of Kasota, MN, Chankaska has quickly grown to be the second-largest winery in Minnesota. Named “Best Winery” and "Best Wedding Venue" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune, we are one of the most popular event sites for weddings in the entire Midwest. Since our first year of distribution, we have won a myriad of awards for our wines. Enjoy a self-guided sculpture tour through our beautiful grounds. Order your favorite wine, spirits and food at our tasting bar. Our Spirit Bar offers craft cocktails every weekend. Our Kitchen offers antipasto's and wood-fired pizza's. No outside food or beverage will be permitted. To keep our grounds pristine, we do not allow smoking or pets on the property.
“First time here. Wonderful experience. Limited food menu, but high quality ingredients. We had spinach artichoke dip, pickle pizza and for dessert, the chocolate budino. We tried a few cocktails from the spirits bar and a red wine flight. Everything was delightful. Staff was friendly and helpful with all questions. Will be back soon.”
“Welcoming environment. Beautiful inside and out. Great wine and drinks from the on-site distillery. Limited food menus but the food is very good...especially the pizzas. Amazing outdoor seating when the weather is warm.”
“Beautiful grounds, sitting areas, tasting room! Good selection of wines, limited food items, but high quality and generous. Helpful staff with pleasant attitudes. One criticism is that they don't answer their phone.”
“This winery used to be one of my absolute favorites. Ten years ago, it felt special — focused on great wine, genuine hospitality, and creating an experience that kept you coming back. The staff felt like part of the charm, and the whole place had character. Over time, though, it seems like growth became the main priority. What once felt intimate and wine-centered now feels over-expanded and more focused on building and revenue than on quality. The menu prices have steadily increased while the portion sizes and overall food quality have noticeably declined. What used to feel thoughtful now feels streamlined and scaled. Even the customer experience has shifted. The personal touch that once defined the winery has faded, and interactions with staff don’t feel as warm or engaging as they once did. It’s unfortunate, because this place truly had something unique. It’s a familiar path for initially successful businesses — rapid growth, expansion, and eventually drifting away from what made them great in the first place. I genuinely hope they find their way back to their roots, because this winery used to be something special.”
“I purchased this “blind date with a book” from their shop today and was very disappointed to receive a book that looks like it is straight from a consignment store. I have purchased blind date books in the past and they have been brand new books. For $16 the book should not come in the condition that it did.”
