“Our first time so we ordered a crazy amount of pizza just so we could try three different styles: Sicilian, Detroit and NY. All were delicious with excellent crust and texture. The good news is that the pizza also reheats really well. We will certainly be coming back. 😋”

“Pizzeria da Laura in Berkeley is a fantastic spot for Italian food right in the heart of downtown, just steps from the university. The location gives it a lively downtown vibe with lots of energy from the surrounding area and nearby students. The reservation and check-in process was very smooth. The staff were incredibly courteous, welcoming, and helpful throughout the visit. I actually arrived about 30 minutes earlier than my reservation time, and they were kind enough to seat us early, which was a really nice touch. One thing I really like about this place is that they update their dishes a few times a year, so every visit can feel a little different and exciting. The menu has great variety, especially when it comes to pizza styles as you can choose from New York, Sicilian, Detroit, and Grandma-style pizzas, and the pricing is very straightforward for all the sizes they serve. The pizza was perfectly cooked and tasted great. They also allow you to customize your pizza by adding or removing ingredients, which makes it very convenient for everyone to choose based on their liking. And they add toppings with open-heart. The pasta was also excellent. We ordered the Peperoncino pasta, and it tasted amazing. The garlic flavor and breadcrumbs were really the highlight and brought out the authentic character of the spaghetti. Another big plus is that they have plenty of vegetarian options, making it easy for different dietary preferences. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable for what they serve. Food arrived quickly, and the service from the servers and staff was great throughout the visit. The restaurant also has plenty of space and handles reservations well. The atmosphere is lively with lots of people around and students from the nearby university, which adds to the downtown Berkeley energy. A little more upbeat music could add even more charm to the place. Overall, this is a place I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Berkeley. It’s the kind of restaurant I’d happily come back to again and again.”

“On Saturday, June 20, 2026, I ate at Pizzeria Da Laura for my birthday. Let me start off by saying if you don't know about Pizzeria Da Laura, you're sleeping big time on great pizza and Italian good in general. The owner Laura, trained and worked under renowned Pizza Master Tony Gemignani. If you're from the Bay Area and don't know who Tony is, you've been asleep your entire life! Lol 😆 🤣 😂 I had high expectations for Laura's restaurant since she trained with and under Tony for years. Here's what we ordered. The Arancini which came with a red marina sauce, the Ray J New York Style Pizza 18 inch, the Grandma Style Pazzo Pizza, and the Rigatoni in Vodka cream sauce with sausage added to it. The Arancini was different compared to what I was used to. There were artichokes and a touch of lemon inside of the Arancini. It was very earthy tasting. The texture was spot on and the flavors were unique. The Ray J New York Style Pizza is some of the best pizza I've ever had. Two different types of pepperoni, fresh burrata cheese and drizzled with honey! It was such a unique and great tasting pizza. It's unlike anything I've ever had. I would highly recommend this pizza to everyone. The Pazzo Grandma style pizza was good. If you like combination pizza toppings, you'll definitely enjoy this pizza. This was my first time trying a grandma style pizza. I've tried Detroit and Sicilian style pizzas which are way thicker compared to a grandma style pizza. The grandma style pizza dough and crust was thin and very crunchy. It was served cut into an L/triangle shape. Pretty cool. I honestly was kinda upset because we wanted to try their lasagna but they ran out the night before and it wasn't available on Saturday when we are there around 4 pm. We opted for the Rigatoni pasta with Vodka cream sauce and sausage. It was beyond good! It really hit the spot! It was definitely one of the best pasta dishes I've ever eaten. The Vodka cream sauce wasn't spicy and the sausage was super flavorful. The pasta was cooked perfectly. A great dish overall! I went with 8 people. Everyone loved the food. The atmosphere and decor/vibe of the restaurant is nice. There's a bar area and plasma screen TV's to watch a game. The restaurant is also connected a market/business right next door that sells slices of pizza from Pizzeria Da Laura, Gelato and cookies along with other Italian infused foods. Pretty cool. Out waiter Justice was excellent! He was very attentive to details and had a great personality. Great service overall. I took one star off because the Lasagna wasn't available. But its okay because this gives me a reason to go back and try the Lasagna. Pizzeria Da Laura is definitely a 5 out of 5 star rating restaurant. BTW, the owner Laura is very nice and down to earth. This was my first time meeting her. I enjoyed talking to her about Tony, various pizza/Italian infused restaurants throughout the Bay Area and just about food/pizza in general. Laura is a class act and I wish nothing but success for her restaurant and future business adventures. “Me and the lady went here, cause of Bay Area Check Please! You know? Cause that’s what we do. The evening we went it was busy, but we had little wait for our table. The homie Fernando was cool and on top of things. It Did however take a min to get the pies. But it wasn’t a crazy long wait. About the pies we got: I got the Detroit style of what’s called The Ray J which is named after Laura’s brother. I saw her make that on an episode Localish. My lady got a New York style of a “make your own”. Both were fire. The dough on the New York style was nice and slightly chewy. And on the Detroit style, the way the cheese cooked around the edges were tasty than a mug! If you know you know. The ambiance was cool. I mean, it’s a pizza place. Music was on point. Nah’mean?!?!
