The Bistro at Ten Acres

“As always, the food is why we go to 10 Acres. We had the short rib, with fresh steamed vegetables, polenta and a lovely dark gravy. Food and plates were hot, as they should be. We opted to move tables and check in girl was super happy to accommodate. Sat next a large table with some business people actively talking, but the noise levels were perfectly fine, as the restaurant, unlike many others, has spent the time and money on acoustic balancing and sound deadening (just look up). Our server was great and attentive as were the others. A nice glass of cabernet for me, and my wife enjoyed her classic margaritas. We've been many times to the Bistro and have never, ever been disappointed. We are worldly folks with properties in 3 countries, we'll traveled in terms of global food experiences and we can vouch that Bistro at Ten Acres is the real deal. Do not expect your bog-standard pizza or burger and fries. This food is like good old home cooking. DELICIOUS!”

“The dinner was so good. Service was top notch, Aaron being our server. The salmon my wife ordered was delicious and my short ribs were so so good, served over a delicious polenta with vegetables. Salted caramel cheesecake was a great way to end the meal. Well worth it.”

“We had our anniversary dinner 🍽 there. It was 90+ outside that day so warm inside, but the food was delicious and our leftovers were just as good. Our desserts were fantastic: A blueberry cheesecake and a tiramisu. The drinks 🍸 were well done also. Looking forward to our next visit.”

“We tried dinner here twice - and it is with regret that I report wildly uneven experiences. Salmon, and pork shank and burger were excellent one quiet midweek night. Mussels - solid. Cheese & Charcuterie missed the mark. Large piece of burrata, some cheddar and blue cheese, 5 pieces of salami, an awesome spicy & savory jam and five pickles that should have been small but were large. Definitely not cornichons. Mediocre old fashioned with two cherries. Maple Manhattan was missing a cherry. Kind of weird. Bacon cheeseburger with aioli and roasted potatoes was excellent with locally ground meat. They quickly remedied the forgotten bacon. We were too lazy to fight the crowds in Stowe and made a Second trip on a weekend night - gin and tonic arrived as a gin martini…perhaps with a bit of lemon juice? Maybe the bartender started a Bee’s Knees out of habit & sent that out??? Cheeseburgers had a grilled taste that was different than the first night. Aioli forgotten on one meal. Tiramisu dessert was good & made on premises. Charming farmhouse - but to the extent there were decoratives on the shelves they were randomly placed & only on the lowest shelves. S L O W service. My companions were charming or it would have been miserable. This place could be awesome! It just needs to get a few more things right.”

“I went with a group for a special family occasion recently and received some of the most appalling service I have ever experienced. The evening began by our drinks taking over 40 minutes to arrive and it was over an hour after we were seated before any food orders were taken. Over 30 minutes after our food was ordered, three people were told their dish was no longer available with little apology. After waiting for 2 hours, we had to get up to check on our food and remind the staff that our table existed. At this point in the night, the staff (clearly under prepared) were routinely glaring and laughing at us as if they had given up on serving our table and just wanted us to leave. When the meal finally arrived (and we tracked down utensils for ourselves) the food was fine, except for the dish that was forgotten (and that the staff lied about). Ultimately, the manager said he was unable to comp anything from our bill besides the one forgotten dish and we had to once again get up to track down the check. It was definitely not how we intended the 80th birthday celebration to go, and I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. Stands out at the most comically heinous restaurant and service experience I have every had.”
