“Had the most amazing meal at Beautiful South! You know when you enter the front door and the first thing you see is ribs hanging in the front kitchen window that you are in the right place. Our server Damien was incredibly personable and kind and made sure our food came out as hot and fast as possible. The ginger chicken dish blew us away and was one of our favorite dishes of the night! You cannot go wrong with any of their dishes though! All were incredible!”

“Walking downtown I’ve passed by this restaurant a number of times and at first glance looking through the windows I thought it was a Asian place for a quick bite to eat on the go. I was wrong. Don’t let the window view from the street of the kitchen area deceive you. Inside is a full sit down restaurant and bar. We saw a reservation and our table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. The waitress explained the menu and specials. Food is meant to be shared by the table. We started we’d cocktails. They have a nice selection on their cocktail menu and absolutely LOVED the once I got; The Tyger with ginger bourbon, apricot, lemon, cinnamon, and cashew orgeat. In addition to cocktails they offer wines, beer, sake and non alcoholic beverages. We started with the salt and pepper chicken wings. SOOO good! They were crispy without being super crunchy or dried out. Moist chicken inside great flavor with the batter and seasonings. My mistake the waitress brought us crab Rangoon which we didn’t order but absolutely loved. Their version is deconstructed with the crab in a whipped dip with cream cheddar served n the side with a giant portion of wonton crisps and sweet chili sauce. A very enjoyable mistake. On to an order of dumplings. Also very tasty. Finished with General Tso’s chicken. Another flavorful and tasty dish. Overall we enjoyed everything we tried and will definitely be back.”

“Wow! Even just walking in the ambiance and lighting are perfect. The menu selections- it was hard to pick guaranteeing a second visit to try what we didn’t get. Lots of vegan options and fun drinks. Definitely try the sticky rice dumplings and the general tsos tofu, it was really yum! Definitely will be back.”

“We had dinner here on April 9, 2026. Overall, dinner was a good experience, though there are a few things worth knowing before you go. First, the restaurant requires a credit card to make a reservation and will charge $25 per person if you don’t cancel within their required window. Second, they add a 3% service fee that does not count toward your tip. Third, there’s no dessert menu. On to the food. The char siu pork was the one miss of the evening — less of an authentic char siu and more of a pork tenderloin in a char siu marinade. Not terrible, but not what you’d expect if you’re after the real thing. The surprise standout was the cabbage with glass noodles — a simple dish that was a big hit. Highly recommend ordering it. The General Tso’s chicken was a solid entree. We liked that it was made with chicken thighs rather than breast meat, which made it more tender and flavorful. The crab fried rice was delicious and, according to our server, a new menu item that got added tonight. It arrives in a savory crab broth that may be surprising if you’re a newbie to crab fried rice. Our only complaint: the fresh cilantro garnish didn’t seem thoroughly washed and wasn’t as fresh as it should have been for a restaurant of this caliber. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, this place is worth a visit.”

“We were excited to come to this restaurant because of the vegan options in an upscale restaurant. The food had absolutely no taste. The General Tso's tasted like honey fried chicken. My GF ordered Sweet and Sour Tofu and it had chicken in it. It was unseasoned, when we asked for salt and pepper the server said they don't have that only sea salt. She said they season everything in salt and soy sauce. The vegetables were raw and the tofu was under cooked. When you order a dish it does not come with rice for 23 to 25 dollars a dish. The way they justify the price is the dishes are "family style". I've been to Chinese spots they have given you more food for half the price. The only thing to give the place a better review is that the manager did right. It seemed as if the server avoided us after asking for seasonings. Even though we were sitting next to a four top she kept talking to.”
