“5/21/26 - Jake, the bartender, is AMAZING! Soo much fun. Talks to everyone in a personable way. Coming from service industry myself, I appreciate an amazing bartender. It was also super cool to meet managers Daria and Alayna. Typically when a manager comes by your area, they ask “how was everything?” They both came by and just talked with us. Made it seem like we’ve been friends for years. I will be back! Ps the patio is amazing. Boat watching is best!”

“Love this place! Great food menu, excellent beer (per usual) and a really cool modern industrial environment. I assume it's crazy on concert days but I had no problem getting a bar spot on a nom event night.”

“Absolutely unbelievable!! The food, the service and the vibe!! Highly recommend!! We tried the pub chips, smash burger, and the broccoli Caesar and all equally amazing. I usually am vegetarian but that smash burger was wonderful. Grateful for such an awesome day of excellent beers and food. Big shoutout to John Mayor, John, Nicole and Chris. Such an incredible day. John Mayor and John made our experience at the Goose Island Barrel House incredible. Still can’t believe we went for a barrel pick.”

“Great place to have a date night or meetup with friends. Especially if you’re going to a show at the Shed. Great outdoor space with views of the river and city! Food and beers were solid. The Korean fried chicken sandwich and burger were so yum.”

“We love Goose Island and we’re excited to return to their Salt Shed Location for their Maifest celebration. We were here on St. Patrick’s Day early worried they’d get busy and sell out but it hadn’t been busy at all today. So we decided to go around 3 PM (4 hours after opening) and after ordering our first round Maibock in their lovely take home souvenir steins with $1 refills, they were completely out of Maibock. We didn’t even get 1 refill. Though disappointed we opted to order a couple other beers… their berliner weisse & their pucker up sour. To our dismay they ALSO ran out of the sour! For a big operation, it seemed poor planning to us. They did so much advertising for the event you’d think they’d have a larger supply. Never the less, we enjoyed the beers we did have. We also ordered food. Service was great and the location on the river was delightful, especially with the beautiful weather we had. Even with the low stock and not getting to enjoy the day as we initially planned, we’d still go back but stick to going on the earlier side.”
