il Mio is an Italian restaurant in the Downtown Clarendon Hills neighborhood of Clarendon Hills.
“My, my. Il Mio is an Italian restaurant concept owned by Rich Ciota and many of the recipes are inspired by his mother. It’s certainly not classic Italian food, but for the classy and intimate Clarendon Hills suburb, it’s the perfect combo of great food, fun times and the perfect vibe. Best, Rich lives a mile away so you know good and service has to be good. The restaurant is packed on weekends, make reservations in advance and expect to wait a bit. Huge rectangular bar, decent wine list. There is plenty of outdoor seating, weather permitting. Pizza? They call it flatbread and it was very tasty. Salads are fresh and good portions. Entrees all done to perfection, even the fries were hot. Veggie sides excellent and less than $10. Only downside: The place is LOUD, luckily we had a booth but the tables are packed in just like an Italian Sunday dinner in Italy. Overall, you can’t go wrong here and if you’re looking for good food and fun times, head on over!”
“Fun spot in the burbs! Cute interior with fun decor. Sat at the bar and got great service! Food was delicious. They had live music which added to the upbeat atmosphere. Can’t wait to return!! Food: Salmon with risotto. Very tasty and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Drinks: Had both the pear and peach margaritas and they were incredible!”
“This was a lovely find. We are gluten free and needed an Italian restaurant close to the escape room. Food was delicious, they were knowledgeable about gf. The gf pasta was good, can only get rigotoni. I had the skirt steak special, I love my meat blue rare. They made a perfect steak that was fabulous. I only sampled the gf pasta. I will be going back.”
“The calamari was excellent. The mushrooms and broccolini were also good. Drinks were good. They had a live band playing while we visited on a Tuesday which was so nice. I loved them.”
“I have visited three times and have enjoyed all three visits. the last visit, our entrees were forgotten which we noticed after 1 hour as we were enjoying our night. Our server was apologetic, mistakes happen she was an excellent server., however there was no apology or credit from any manager. In fact there didn't seem to be a manager on duty all night. the Espresso martini was waterery and sugary. The veal lacked seasoning. I hope my next visit is better. While no fault of there own, there are ALWAYs young children in this restaurant, which can affect the experience if you are looking for a date night or a true culinary experience as I see the kids eating plates of fries. Perhaps an identity check is needed! they did lt us stay after closing. I would probably recommend Taurisi in Westmont for more authentic Italian. Also there is NO Music at all and two HUGE tvs at the bar! Not very authentic.!”
